need coookies.
booboo is napping and i was going to make cookies to take on our camping trip this weekend but i'm out of vanilla AND oats so i guess i'll just have to wait. humpf.
instead of internetting i should be picking up boo boo's toys. it is really messy in here.
speaking of messy, there is a lady moving out of one of the apartments in our building. she is the only person who has lived here longer than us. she had her door open today and it was FILTHY. like really gross. she had a people moving some garbage out for her. yesterday she was putting stuff in the dumpster and spilled stuff all over the stairs in the inside. jeeze.
anyway. yeah.
i'm sleepy and need caffeine.
/end boring blog

i made pants
yesterday we went to the goodwill to look for some bargains. i found two turtleneck shirts that i wanted to make pants for boo boo with and a headband for myself.
i also found some jeans that i couldn't try on because boo boo was going to have a fit. so i tried them on when i got home and they don't really fit. ( huh. i just said fit twice. )
they are kinda low rise so he probably won't wear them much.
these are nice and he'll wear them a lot. i like this fabric, it's really stretchy and makes a nice headband.
we're supposed to go camping on the 4th of july weekend but i'm not sure. camping with a baby??? we are having major sleeping issues over here. nobody is getting much of any and camping seems like a lot of work for me (more then normal, which i can't keep up with anyway) and that on top of being in a different place that is not as comfortable makes me nervous.
okay. boo boo is napping so i gotta run!
p.s. i can't stop eating newmans own chocolate sammich cookies.

never ending bread basket of laundry
so today me and boo boo went on a walk to the library and the playground. when we walked by the bus stop i noticed a lady with a stroller talking to somebody. now that i have a baby it's like second nature to just look at other peoples strollers to see their babies. as i turned to see the baby i noticed a balled up fist and it looked like the baby was sleeping. so i kept walking but turned around again because i thought the baby hand looked strangely fake. then i looked at the face again thought 'fake baby? no, it couldn't be...could it?' so i turned around AGAIN because i just really didn't know. the stroller looked hardly used and the woman with the baby was grandma age. i thought it must be one of those fake real babies. which made feel sort of sad and weird so i called corey and left a message saying "i just say a lady with a fake baby and i'm buggin you gotta call me back!!!"
he called me back and i told him about the real fake real baby and then we hung up. then, a few blocks later i saw the bus go by and i saw the lady holding the "sleeping baby" over her shoulder. WEIRD. and just as i was starting to feel more sadness and weirdness for this lady who must want a baby so bad that she gets a pretend baby and then strollers it all around town the "fake baby" OPENED ITS EYES and MOVED IT'S HEAD. it's aliveeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
speaking of real babies : my sister in law had a baby on friday. this is my first nephew and he is super special! he weighed 10 lbs 3 oz which i can't stop thinking about.
our baby, who is really a too-dler now, is getting bigger and stronger and louder. he squawks a lot and makes big messes everywhere around the apartment. it is very hard to clean, especially when i don't want to clean in the first place. our vacuum is still broken which is even more dumb.
p.s. i got a metric butt-load of strawrburries this weekend and i want to make hand pies. HAND PIES YUMM.

it's hot out
some things that have happened today:
- got an email that our bugaboo bee stroller was recalled due to break failure.
this has been happening to our stroller along with the handle bar not being able to retract or whatever. when the breaks started getting weird i figured it was "just me" or something. they didn't always fail. sometimes one would work, somethings the other would work. and then sometimes you just had to step on the things a few times and they would work. then i was checking out reviews and read that a lot of other people were having the same problems. i contacted the company and they wanted me to take a picture of the brakes but i hadn't gotten around to it yet (you know, busy with a baby... not enough time for things that are important). anyway, it was only a matter of time before i figured they would recall it. now we are getting a little kit to fix the problem and hopefully it will be better.
-on the way back from the zoo booboo tossed one of his new-ish sandals out of the stroller. corey just noticed it now after dinner and was like "there is only one sandal in here". i feel bad but they are going to retrace some steps and hopefully find it. i found one of his socks that way once. unfortunately he's lost more socks than that though.
-it's really hot and stuffy out.
tomorrow is esmond's 1st birthday which is beyond amazing/exciting/weird/hard to believe. it's really been a year? one whole year?
i'm not sure what we'll do yet. corey has the rest of the week off and we're going on a vacation-type thing for a long weekend. it's not really our choice though - we have to leave the apartment (including the kitty) to have the tub and sinks re-surfaced. and we have to be out for 3 days. so meh.
okay. i need to pick up toys and then use a crappy vacuum to try and suck of crumbs that will probably stay stuck in the carpet.
boof.

it's a brain dump
here's a quick bleeblooblah about the weekend that was long.
saturday we went to m-vill so that corey could help scooter move. i pulled boo boo around in the wagon at my parents house. later we had a bbq for my dad's bday.
sunday we walked around. it was weird because it didn't seem like sunday because it was sunny out and whatnot. we got some lunch at this new sammich place down in fremont. i got a regular veggie sammich and corey got a "farmer's market veggie sammich" which meant that it had beets and goat cheese (among other things) on it. corey's sammy RULED and my sammy totally droooled if you know what i mean. today it was more of the same walking around and stopping my the zoomazium and the park and stuff like that. i made corn and sammies for dinner and i'm sorta still hungry. this week is supposed to be warm.
i'm reading the secret garden right now. i remember reading it in 7th grade but it seemed boring then. plus we watched the movie afterward which always makes you not really want to read the book. anyway, it is really really good and i recommend re-reading it if you haven't already read it more then once. or something. another really good book i just read for the first time was the giver by lois lowry. i really liked it except for the ending which was kind of sad .
ooh, another book i used to read a lot was sugar isn't everything by willow davis roberts. i feel like i've linked to that book before. who knows. i should find that at the liberry and put it on my list to read.
something smells like ketchup which i should go investigate and then i should go to bed.

two sets of fabric baby poofs:
i plan on adding so more over the next few days. all house chores have taken a backseat for the moment. i am finding little bits of time here and there to sew. some things i had in my pile of not quite finished stuff and i am going through it to finish it up.
yea!!

mum mum day was yesterday.
baby esmond is napping on my lap. it is getting harder and harder to find time to "blog" anything worthwhile anymore. (uh, was it ever worthwhile???) but whatever. i take pictures of buster brown all day long and it's hard to get those on flickr too. i read a lot of blogs about nice ladies that have lots of kids...like 3 or more sometimes and i don't even know what to think sometimes. how do they find time? how does anyone one with a small child have time to do anything??? maybe it gets easier. maybe they don't watch the price is right everyday ( i do!!)
i guess maybe my priorities have changed a little bit? maybe not. i would love to sew clothes for the boy, for myself, for the cat and make things for etsy while also making money. but i would rather try to exercise or go to the park with boo boo and by then time we get home it's time to cook dinner then it's time for a bath and then it's almost bedtime.
yesterday was my first mothers day. i have been a mom for less then a year but it is really weird to think about how much esmond has grown from a tiny bebe to a walking, grunting little person! a lot of things changed when i became a mom and it's been REALLY hard sometimes. i feel like there are so many things that other mom's don't tell each other about what to expect when becoming a mom, but at the same time you kind of have to experience it on your own to really know how it is. but still, once you become a mom you are a completely different person from the one you used to be. i see it as the one thing that makes you grow up from being a child to becoming an adult. i know maybe you paid bills before and work at a job or whatever. but it's not the same. i'm not sure if other people feel the same way as i do.
okay. anyway. i keep seeing this girl around fremont who used to live by me when i was little. i think she recognizes me to. it's weird. if i see her again i will talk to her . maybe..probably.
sighhhhhhhhhhh...

long, busy and sick weekend
both me and baby boo boo are sick. he's had a snot nose for a few days but now the color of snot is different and grosser. last night when we got home from visiting my parents he woke up with a cough. amazingly enough he slept okay through the night (wait, that sounds like he "slept through the night" which he definitely did not do...i mean that he did not wake up crying and keeping everyone up for an hour, just like 4 or 5 times and was able to get back to sleep and then woke up at 8 all happy)
so anyway. i am feeling better. i hope we don't all have this swine flu business. boo boo has his 9 month checkup (um, three days before his 11mo b-day) so we'll see if he's still sick by then. let's hope not.
on saturday i went down the the baby store and bought an ergo baby carrier. we tried on in the store and it seemed okay. then later corey put it on so boo boo could ride on his back. for about 5 seconds. i tried it later that night. long enough for us to go downstairs and do laundry and then come up stairs to go to bed. yesterday i tried again and he REALLY didn't want to be in it on the back. front is okay. i think we all have to get used to using it.
bleeblooblah.

girls night in!!!
or rather, 'me and beeboo will sit at home while corey takes E out to return video's and to the park while i finish making dinner and watch deal or no deal'
i think this is slowly becoming a once a month blog, people!! hot dog! little buster has been walking (or running with his arms behind him) for a while now and it is hard to do most things i could kinda sorta do before. i can't really sit at the computer because he wants to see what i'm doing and play with the mouse. i can sort of do dishes while he runs around and i just listen for him and check every minute. he usually just runs around in circles through the kitchen and living room.
this week we've gone on lots of outings. zoo, playground, baby story time at the liberry. i'm trying to keep busy because E is teething bad and being out seems to make him forget. he is super snotty right now and it's hard for him to nurse so last night everyone was up between 3 and 4 while we tried to calm down and feel better.
in other news, 4 out of 4 of the phones i used in the past year are dead as door knobs and i WANT A NEW ONE. corey found this "rugged" phone for construction worker types that he thought would be perfect - waterproof and with some kind of rubber casing.
( booboo likes to find the phones and slobber all over them making it so the mic doesn't work). but it's only available in black (lame) and is being discontinued. plus it was expensive. i think my other option could be to get a free phone and a "blue douche" headset and keep the phone up high.
in more other news, i want an ergo so that i can carry booboo on my back. i imagine i could get loads of stuff done like that, since he could potentially fall asleep and wouldn't be reaching for stuff as i wash dishes. his two carriers now are either uncomfortable for long periods of wearing (sling) OR too time consuming to put on while he's upset with me and wanting to be held RIGHT NOW!!(moby-like wrap).
so there you have it.

hey! it's friday.
woop.
this week has seemed to take forever.
booboo is taking his nap right now and i am eating ice cream for lunch. in a minute i will eat some cous cous and then that will be my "real lunch".
this week we tried to go out and do different stuff each day. monday we hit the zoo again to look at the gorilla's. then it started raining and buster complained so we went home. tuesday we went to the grocery store and the baby store to pick up a diaper cover. wednesday we went to a different grocery store. yesterday we went to the zoo again and to the zoomazium. the zoo was packed with lots of peeps because it was so nice out.
okay. please go watch this paula deen clip on hulu. she's making fried gator. i don't know why i just think it seems gross.
here is another link for chicken tetrazzini. i've never made it but maybe eaten it once before. it seems like a really 80's recipe for some reason but i think i want to make it. okay. booboo's up.
