oh, butts.
i just typed out a long and boring blog post about how much i love toffee bars and how they stopped selling them at the store and then the bakery that makes them went out of business. then when i uploaded this terrible (but delicious!) picture everything went away. nerds.
yeah, i'm looking for a toffee bar recipe but can't seem to find the "right" one. mostly everything is a blondie with toffee and chocolate in it but blondies aren't the same texture/don't have the same density as a toffee bar and i'm not even sure there was any actual factual toffee in my favorite toffee bar.
anyway. THANK GOD i had the foresight to take this terrible picture of what they look like so i can always remember their delicious-ness.

in other news we did our errand running this morning after cofffee/bagels at the coffee shop. mailed some stuff. shopped for dinner and snack foods. stopped at the playground. etc.
then we went home and now boo boo is sleeping and it's supposed to be warm today so maybe we'll stay inside? who knows!

i was able to get SWEET deals on some new birk's on ebay. so i guess my summer shoe collection is complete.........until next year???? we'll see. they're just so comfortable.

SUMMER.
i am waiting for a pair of skinny jeans to come in the mail today. we went to the store this morning and as we were driving away i saw the ups truck. so i followed it around the corner thinking that it might stop at our place and i might miss my package!!! of course it just drove by and so we went to the store and now i'm still waiting.but, SKINNY JEANS? i don't know. we'll see. i'm not sure i'm cool enough/have the right body type for these kinds of things so we'll see. there is also two tank tops in the package that i am anxiously awaiting because it is 90 degrees here.
yesterday we went on a picnic to volunteer park. boo boo found an abandoned ice cream cone and flung chocolate and ice cream all over the place.
ew.
we've been to a lot of parks lately. lots and lots of exploring!!

i got some shorts
see here
yesterday i was randomly browsing the nordstrom site (yes, randomly!! i was bored while boo boo napped. and shorts isn't something i'd normally seek out.) and i saw these shorts. they have a lot of reviews which was weird. because there is tons of stuff on there that has no reviews. i got a bee in my bonnet about "gettin' some shorts!! now!" and went doontoon and found them. it must have been because yesterday was warm-ish that made me think i needed new shorts....that and i only own 2 other shorts right now, both of which are ill-fitting. one pair is from target which i bought postpartum and is both too big and not flattering. i will be giving those away soon, i promise. also in the go-away bag is a pair of shorts that are too tight on the tummy and short on the leg shorts i got last summer at goodwill during the HEAT WAVE . i had gone the day before and seen some OK shorts and when i went back the next day they were gone. and i had to get SOMETHING because it was 100 freaking degrees out. and so now you know the story of my shorts.
this week boo boo has been taking LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG ass naps. one day he slept for 4 hours. I AM NOT JOKING. the next day around 3. today he is on the fast track to a 4 hour nap again. i think this is because he's been going to bed LATE at 11. and then he sometimes wakes up late too. so yeah.......i'm really bored when he sleeps. i tried sleeping for a while. and that was ok. but now i'm up and waiting............ waiting............ waiting.......
did i mention that we finally got netflix? maybe i did. i'm getting true blood on dvd and have watched the first 2 episodes. i guess it's alright. maybe i need to watch more. all three of guys in it look the exact same to me. the brother, the boss and the vampire. am i the only one who thinks this? i mean, they have slightly different body shapes but their hair and facial structure look the same to me. i don't get it.

mid-june pictures.
here are some pictures of june, so far... it seems like june always passes by really quickly. and now that esmond AND his cousin arie have birthdays PLUS my brother it's like a birthday party every weekend. PLUS the solstice parade (which hasn't happened yet) and fathers day..... sooooo much stuff to do!!

birfday cupcakes. two thumbs up for always having the stuff for making cupcakes so i can make them while the boys go to the playground and i don't have to go to the store for anything.

in other news. i'm thinking about saddle shoes today and wondering if i can pull them off. i had saddle shoes in like, kindergarten or something...but now i'm not sure if i'm hip enough. so. yeah.
now it's time to take a shower before the boop wakes up. then we'll probably go to the library and store and maybe feed the ducks.

random thoughts to clear my brain so i can try to nap
here is two potential dresses that i want to get for upcoming weddings that we are going to this summer AND winter:
really cute black shirt dress
and
really cute navy shift dress with lace detail
it is annoying that i can't save the pictures to just show you but WHATEVER.
i really like the black one and it's a good option if i ever had to nurse in it. which, hopefully i wouldn't have to do.
yesterday we had a family/close friends bday party for boo boo at my parents house.
it was really fun to see my friends that i don't see very often. i wish i could see them more. they have been my friends since grade school and we were all in campfire together.
boo boo got some really awesome prezzies. all kinds of boy things like trains, digger, animal things. like a horse on a stick that you walk around like it's your dog or something. it's really cute.
okay. i need to go rest my eyes while i still have time.
tomorrow we leave to go on a camping trip. i HOPE THE WEATHER COOPERATES, jesus f-ing christ, for the sake of my family because otherwise i will be grumpy. i got some magazines and crayons just in case.

everyone but me is doing the mid-day nap thing right now. i tried to sleep but i couldn't stop thinking about the dr. visit that we had in the morning or about cupcakes that i want to make for tonight.
today is esmond's birthday and WHOA i can't believe how fast the last year went by. faster than the year before.

weird dreams
so, i had this weird dream last night. i won't bore you with too much of it, because i know that reading dreams is lame but: i had a dream about survivor. like the show. that i am obsessed with. in the dream all of the "castaways" ( i guess that's what they're called, right?) were people from my highschool. what??? and i guess i was also a contestant/castaway..(is that really what they are called? i need to go check) and anyway the island was actually a very small apartment and nobody could leave it.
i have issues because i'm REALLY sad that survivor isn't on right now and considered getting past seasons to RE-WATCH while i wait for the fall season to start. FYI, past seasons are only available on netflix and WHY THE HELL DOESN'T THE LIBRARY HAVE THEM?????
okay, here is another video
i used to watch it a few months back and then forget about it and i remembered it earlier today when we were watching video's. it reminds me of the sugar cubes.
boo boo is turning two next week and i keep mentioning it to people in passing, like they might actually care (they don't) but i try to be all casual about it like, 'oh he's gonna be two soon and youbetterbelieve i'm gonna take him to that little playland place in the store so i can shop by myself for once!...heh heh...'
the store we shop at has race car carts and it is the only thing that we can use now, or else esmond WILL NOT go in the cart and it is miserable. the store also has a thing of cookies out (prolly for the same reason, to make shopping pleasant for the parents) and yesterday we were there and i saw a fat lady and her kid both eating a cookie....which isn't that big a deal except that she had taken two extras for later. i feel guilty if we go to the store more than once a week and boo boo gets a cookie both times. i feel guilty if *I* take a cookie when i feel like i'm having an 'OMG I NEED A COOKIE" day. but two extras???? they aren't even good cookies.
okay, i'm really grouchy so i'm gonna go look for something on the internet that makes me happy.

"what i did last weekend" and something to listen to.
SOOOOOO, last saturday we had a date night. the plan was to eat food somewhere and to "see a movie" even though i'm really grumpy about movies these days because they are ALL TERRIBLE. corey showed me the preview for kick ass and so i had to decide between that and date night. OMG I'M SO GLAD i picked kick ass. i can say with certainty that it was "good" and that i "liked it". AND THAT IS REALLY SAYING SOMETHING. because the only movies i really like are anne of green gables and muriels wedding.
so there.
before that we had a late lunch (last ones served before they closed to get ready for din) at agua verde and it was good. the last time we ate there i was pregnant with booper and i couldn't hardly finish one taco and then got insane heartburn. but not this time!
