something really messed up happened last thursday

remember how i told you that i went to the library last thursday? and that guy said someone shat all over the bathroom? i'm sure you didn't forget.
well, i went there and i checked out THREE books. now do you remember?
today i decided to check online to see if i had anything ready to pick up. i logged into my account and it said "11 things checked out"
eleven thingy-doos checked out? what the butt?
i haven't been to the library for a while and the last time i only checked out three. this is strange. so i clicked to see what items i had out.
here is a list:

Vegetables every day : the definitive guide to buying and cooking
today's produce, with more than 350 recipes /
by Bishop, Jack.
Book

amy grant? no. simply red? NO. barbara streisand maybe. olivia newton john?
so i got home and called the library. that lady said that usually one or two books is okay and they can take it off, but eight is a little strange. she transferred me to the wallingford branch. i talked to a guy who is probably the same guy who checks my books out. i told him what happened. he said he could take them off and try and track them, but if they are not back in a month the i will have to deal with it then. i hope this doesn't turn out to be something horrible. there is no way i am taking accountability for a simply red cd. SIMPLY RED!! whatever though. judging by the list, the person who checked them out is a big dork and they are probably really good about returning their library materials on time. at least i hope so.

Did you ever use the computers at the library? and log in with your information?

The reason I ask...

When I was going to EvCC people the computers had "autocomplete" turned on...so if I went to log into the EvCC library and type my info in...other peoples would come up in each box. Usually about 3 or 4 card numbers matched with 3 or 4 socials...so I just had to mix and match until a login was found.

I never did anything mean, but it sure was sad to see how easy it is to steal a library card number.

I hope everything goes well for you and this does not turn into a nightmare!

dude thats BS. i hope they dont make you pay for fines or whatever if whoever checked that crap out doesnt turn it back in. that happened to a friend of mine. luckily, the stuff was turned in, but it seems that its pretty easy to steal liberry card numbers. :(

i do not use the computers at the wallingford library. i have used the computer at the downtown library and i always log out.

i was tellinng corey the other day how i hated this new system. the self check out. it is lame. because most of the time a person can not "self check out" because they don't know how to work the thingy and someone has to come over and help them. and then there is the person like me, who mostly gets stuff on hold. so i'm like standing there waiting for someone to help me. but they want you to just scan your stuff right away. whatever.
