well shart... i haven't been able to crank out the daily entries like i used to. maybe it was because i was gone all weekend (actually only saturday. but sunday was a slothy day)

here are some pictures:

pumpking.jpg

this pumpkin had a really beautiful dark orange but something was wrong with it so we didn't get it. there was a different dark orange pumpkin that had a really gross wiener-y vein-y texture and we couldn't get it either...

worm.jpg

i don't want worms in my house so we had to get pumpkins that had been de-wormed.

pumpkin de-wormed.

i also have a story of an owl sitting in the street that i want to tell but i need to finish making dinner and then i have to pick corn-dog up from work.

friday fart day

i straightened my hair today. i have gotten many "compliments"

"hey! new 'do! looks good!"

"i like your hair when it's down"

"your hair is getting longer"

someone: you're hair is different. ??
me: i straightened it.
s: oh. how do you do that?
m: i blow dry it and use a straightening iron.
s: they make those? huh. well it looks cute like that.
m: thanks
s: (walks away.) i'm pretty observant aren't i!

later...

same someone: it really does look different. so it's curly usually?
m: yeah. well it's not really curly. just sort of curly.
s: huh. well it looks good.

eleventeen movies in three days

i saw all of these movies this weekend:

menace II society

the day after tomorrow

(half of) team america: world police

funny games

capturing the friedmans

shaun of the dead

we also took mew baby jr. to my parents house marysville where she tried to attack one of their cats even though it was 3 times her size. CUTE! i bought her a kitten tent crate thing. now she can come in the car with us. she was in the tent crate thing on the way there and cried non-stop. it was awful. so we let her out and she was much better. she is my favorite mew kitten baby jr. the 3rd.

nakkie

DEAR ABBY: I went to wake up my 14-year-old daughter today and discovered her sleeping in the nude. Apparently she has been doing it for some time. Normally she is good about getting up, and I haven't needed to enter her room to waken her. When I asked her why she does it, she said it's more comfortable and she sleeps better.

When I told her I was not comfortable with it, she asked me why, and frankly I could not come up with a good reason other than it seemed "wrong," and fear about what would happen in an earthquake or fire. She questioned how it could be wrong if no one knows -- unless they walk into her room without knocking (as I did). She keeps a long robe next to the bed so she can put it on in case of emergency. (Indeed, she walks around the house in that robe, and I thought she had a nightgown underneath when in fact she has been naked underneath since Christmas.)

I am still not comfortable with it, but we agreed to abide by your advice. Is it OK for her to sleep in the nude, and why -- or why not? -- WORRIED MOM IN SAN LEANDRO

DEAR WORRIED MOM: There is nothing inherently wrong with sleeping in the nude. Many people do so because they sleep more comfortably that way. Look at the bright side -- it makes for smaller loads of laundry.

dear abby

DEAR ABBY: I have a short-sleeved red "church" dress. What color shoes should I wear with it? Abby, it's almost impossible to find a red shoe that matches. Should I wear black or tan/taupe? -- KIMMIE IN AUBURN, ALA.

DEAR KIMMIE: During the spring and summer, accessorizing with tan or white would be attractive. In the winter, accessorizing with black would be acceptable. Or take your dress to your shoe repair shop and ask if a pair of your shoes could be dyed to match it. (I have done it and was very pleased with the results.)

wednesday is the new tuesday

america's top model was on tonight. it is over now and i am bored. corndog is taking a "nap". my neck hurts. i'm trying to be more conscious about sitting up straight. so that is what i'm going right now. I'M BORED. kitten doddle meiw face is sleeping. she has been sleeping all evening. has anyone noticed how stupid the story line on gilmore girls is? rory is dating dean again? loralei is with luke? PLEASE? anyway. it seems weird to me that they are using the two "back-up" story lines right now. is it that hard to find other characters for them to date? whatevs.
i get paid tomorrow and i am looking forward to buying a sonicare toofbrush. i am also going to get some storage jars for food. we have food worms crawling around and i cleaned it a week or so ago but they are back. today i got a marimekko shower curtain that i ordered from crate and barrel. it feels like a towel! so now we can just get out of the shower and then wipe off with the curtain!
WAHHH!

kbye.

it's still friday.

sheeshdog. chilli dog. whenever i try to type "dog" i type "god" instead.

guess what everyone?!
last night corngod and i walked to the movie store. wednesday and thursdays are ROGO. (rent one get one (free)).

we rented these movies:

The United States of Leland

l'Auberge Espagnole

The Short Films of David Lynch

we also rented a fourth movie that i don't remember the title of.

so anyway. we watched the united states of leland last night. here is my review :

HATED IT!!

these things bothered me about it:

thingy the first: not even 2 minutes into the movie corey pauses it and says "wait a minute. what movie did we just see that this kid was in?"
and i say "well. he looks like he's trying to be donnie darko. so that is probably it." he says "ohh. yeah. he talks like him too."
it doesn't help that donnie darko's GF is in the movie also. WTB? jena malone bugs be. she looks like she's 12. she was okay in donnie darko but awful in this movie. she is too affected.

thingy number 2: ryan gosling is a turd. i have not seen him in anything else and i will steer clear of whatever else he is in. in this movie his schtick is that he murdered a retarded kid. but through out the whole movie i was unsure if he was actually retarded himself.

the whole movie was trying really hard to be something profound and i was groaning the whole way through. halfway through corey stopped it to make food. he said "i feel like i need to finish watching it to see if it redeems itself" i fell asleep and didn't see the end. but take my word for it. i'd rather sniff mew kitten's bottom hole after she poops a turd bigger than ryan gosling. sniff sniff sniff...

i don't know though, if you're in the mood for touching a bruise you might enjoy it. i know that eva likes to touch bruises a lot. so eva would probably like it. HA!

those kinds of people

i'm not sure about corey, but i'm one of those people who will take pictures of their cats all the time. i have taken almost an entire roll of real film of the new mew kitten, plus the endless pictures from the digi cam. WAHHH! i promise i won't put any unnecessary picture of mew kitten jr. up. unless she is being really really cute.
anyway, she slept in the crotch of my head and neck last night. her cat motor thing was turned up full blast. isn't it weird that such a cute thingy would make such a weird noise?
yes. weird.
that's what i thought too.

did you hear about that jew hater girl from the apprentice. who got doubly fired?

"The Times Union noted that James stopped short of saying the 32-year-old had been fired, à la Trump. The paper further noted James couldn't say the word fired, à la Trump, for legal reasons."
