save the whales
i am watching "gadgets field trip something or other" and he is visiting the florida keys. they showed a dolphin flopping around and i remembered this one time in 3rd grade when we had some kind of penny drive or whatever to raise money to "save the whales". so i got a button that said "save the whales" and wore it on my back pack. then one day while walking home some guy was all "hey! you dropped this!" and it was my button . he gave it back to me and i was embarrassed that he knew i wanted to save the whales. sheesh.
yesterday after work i went to brents and then we went to marysville and everett thrift stores. it was nice because going there is always better than settling for the crap around here.
we went to everett first. the first store we went to was the salvation army, i think, which we don't usually go to. i found a pair of havaianas flip-flops. they were marked $1.99. good deal. i went up to pay for them and asked if i could use my credit card and the lady says "not for these!" and i was all like "whuuu?" and then she says " fifty four cents please." even better deal. the last flip flops i got were locals which were also less than a dollar. i have been looking for another pair but they are hard to find. so these new ones should hold me over..
after that we went to shop and save and i got some corduroy fabrics and a cardigan and a wild brown flower-y swirly shirt. while we were there a church bus came and all this church kids ran in and went straight for the plaid pajama pant section. one girl said "we're doing a 30 hour famine and we only get $2 to spend on the clothes we wear tonight!!" then the clerk said "oh! that is really nice."
oh, okay? what do you need to spend $2 on clothes for? you are already wearing clothes. and i'm sure you have seven pairs of plaid jammie pants at home. why not donate that money to third world people? instead of spending it on crotch stained clothes? and while you're at it, why don't you just cut out the pizza party that you're going to have at the end of your hunger strike and use that money to send to starving babies in africa. shit, people.
okay, so after all that, we went to m-ville and picked up erin. then we ate at la hacienda. it was barf. marysville has only mexican restaurants it seemes. ahhh, marysville... next stop was H.O.M.E. and guess what? THEY'RE CLOSING! appartenly whoever owns the building won't renew their lease because they want to get somebody else in there. somebody that's gonna pay more money for that shit hole. i'm sorry, but nobody is going to want that place. it has sat empty many other times and i bet that H.O.M.E gets more business than the salvation army did when it was there. sheesh. anyway, so they were having everything 75% off and all of it was shit. we left and went to the goodwill. i found 4 velvety blazers in about 2 seconds. i bought two and brent bought one. one of mine is a brown color with puffed sleeves! PUFFED SLEEVES!!
i will leave it at that. PUFFED SLEEVES!

it's friday
my computer is making this "whiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise and it is driving me crazy. yesterday i had a big time headache from it. turning the radio up doesn't help. because i will try to focus on the words being said and then "whiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" comes through loud and clear.
i think today after work i will go up to greenwood to the thrift store there. yesterday i went to the goodwill and it sucks big time. i have found some okay home accessories there a few times. but the other day i dropped stuff off at the donation place and noticed that i was giving them a bunch of stuff that i bought months ago. anyway when i go today i will look for fabric. or clothes. i forget what the name is... thriftko? something like that. anyway, they have more "crap" so i think i have a better chance of finding something good there.
yesterday i made mangodillas. remember? so i made those and also chipolte mashed potatoes. the potatoes were really good and i am excited to make them again. you should try them, it's easy. here is a recipe:
1 package of "instant" mashed potatoes
jar of chipolte sauce
prepare potatoes according to directions. dump in the sauce. to taste. maybe up to a half cup. it depends. just taste it and then see what you like. it's good isn't it? yeah. i know.
i'm sure you could go boil potatoes and all that stuff but this is really easy. and takes about 3 minutes total. i actually put in two baked potatoes for a lumpier texture. i like lumps.
anyway.

mangodillas
okay. so i'm making mangodillas for dinner. i bought some different salsas and i did a little taste test to see if they were crap or not and they are. well one is okay it's just REALLY hot. sort of. anyway, i should have bought the salsa at market time because they have better stuff. i hope thsi doesn't ruin dinner.
today for lunch i had mulligatawny soup and i think it had little tiny carrots in it that weren't fully cooked. it reminded me of throat boogies and made me want to barf.
i don't think normallly carrots go in there because i don't remember them being in there the other times i've had it.
anyhoo, i need to go pay attention to the food cooking in the kitchen.

someone broke in and stole the blinds
kidding! nobody stole anything, our blinds are out at the blinds doctor for a few days getting re-strung. HA!
i just went to fred meyer and got keys made for corey because he lost his the other day, possible on the bus.
i called him to tell him the blinds were gone and he told me i should to to marketime and get stuff to clean the mold off of the window sils. FLOOP!!
we have left over sketti sauce from yesterday. i think i'll make "sloppy joe's" for din.
bye, boofers.

friday afternon
i got home from work a few minutes ago. so far, today has been a really great day. i haven't seen corey yet and i bet that when i do the day will be even better. because we might go on a walk some where or eat dinner out or whatever.
this morning as i was walking down to the bus stop i found what looked like ripped out diary pages. i picked it up and put it in my purse for reading enjoyment at work. when i got to work i opened it up and one page is actual "diary" stuff from a guy who is pretty unhappy with his life. you know, the usual, "i hate my life, my parents are jerks, why am i not getting laid?, i should be on tour with a rock band", kind of stuff. the rest of the pages were crappy lyrcis which i pretty much just scanned over because they were lame and i had work to do. i did notice one line, that may or may not be a lyric to his hit single:
plundering a doody hole
anyhoo, after i got off the bus and was walking to work a bird shat and nearly hit me. i knew the rest of the day would be good because i did not get shat on. someone at work said "shit. you know when you have one of those days? when you do this and it doesn't work and you do that and it doesn't work either. you know? i hate that... i'm not having a nervous breakdown... do you know if so-and-so is back yet?"
i overheard someone else saying they got robbed while they were out of the country. they said to me "hey how’s it going?" and i said "good. what about you?" and they said "never better" which is their stock answer and it bugs when they answer that. like each day just gets exponentially better and better and better, and then you get robbed. but that day is still better then the day before. whatever.
so after work i walked around fremont and stopped in this little store and bought some copper earrings. they are hammered and in a hoop shape. my favorite. then i went to pcc to get shampoo with out SLS and toof brushes.
speaking of toofs..........
i think i am growing a wisdom tooth in the back of my mouth (yeah. where else would it be?) i don't know what the deal with this is. i haven't been to the dentist in a few years because i didn't have insurance, but now i do so i better go see what the dilly is. maybe i have one of those tumor things that grows hair and teeth and stuff. and it's on the inside of my mouth. what is that called eva? you know don't you? speaking of eva, did you see ER last night? a boys EYE POPPED OUT AND ABBY PUT IT BACK IN WITH A PAPER CLIP!!! it was grody to the max.
okay, i will leave you with another jewel from the diary notes i found.
sometimes i just want to dance
sometimes i just want to play with
my butt hairs
sometimes i just want to drink whisky
sometimes i just want to be a sissy

stick this in your pipe and smoke it.
i got an email from corey listing the things on the car that need to be fixed. do you want to know how much it will cost?
hint: it is more expensive than the cat deposit.
yeah, that's right. $1650.
so i guess when we get home we'll talk about it. and then we'll talk about it some more over dinner with my parents. we are taking them to the greek place and paying because it's the least we can do. using their car for 2 months = dinner at the greek place. i think that is about right.
christ on a stick.
is anyone else freaked out by the new pope? i don't like him.

check off list
shit dogs,
today we got the car towed. FINALLY!! there is a car sized rectangle of dirt and leaves where the car was parked. HA!! i never want to see the car parked there ever again.
the apartment peeps came over and we paid them $550 dollars for the kitty. $500 is refundable. $50 is not.
i feel relieved.
also, we cleaned our apartment. it looks great. GREAT!! AND CLEAN!
ANTM is on in 25 minutes.

'shit. so this is how i'm going to die. buried alive. in a snow tsunami.'
i had a dream last night that i was buried alive in snow. it wasn't fun.
has anyone seen the M.I.A. video for "galang"? i think you should go search for it and watch it several times and take notes. then come over to my house and teach me how to dance. because i can't get the stupid thing to work on the computer. it is buggin me.
something else that is buggin me is this: we told the apartment peeps that we have a cat. we decided to just pay the stupid deposit. not so bad right? what is it, like $200?
no. it's actually more like $500. FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A CAT.
this is bogus. but we'll pay because that is just how we are. if she was a full grown cat it would be $400. (we are actually supposed to pay $600 for a kitten, but they are 'cutting us slack'. thanks a lot)
my back hurts and i am looking forward to going to work tomorrow because i don't have to think about anything but stapling and filing and being nice on the phone. i am going to be the best phone answerer that ever lived!
one more thing: i have been craving fish tacos lately. so i had some fish enchiladas on thursday night. they were alright. then on saturday i had fish tacos and they were alright. then today we went to taco del mar. the menu is really confusing. jumbo burrito. super burrito. almost jumbo burrito. almost super burrito. what the hell size is that supposed to be?? so i got a fish super extra almost jumbo burrito and it was fine and all, it's just that the people there are really stupid and only the mexi's know how to roll a burrito properly.
whatev.

and now i will write about something you may or may not care about.
so i got the sewing machine out of the closet on friday night. about 2 seconds after i set it up on the table i remembered the reason i put it away in the first place. kitty!!
i haven't been able to get the bobbin to wind correctly so i did a serch for the manual. the sewing machine i have is a Morse 400. i'm not sure if it is named after the code (morse) or the centaur (man-horse= morse). anyway, so i looked at all of the diagrams for the other models and every machine is different than mine, and similar to each other. what the hell? i did find out something that i wasn't doing before, and i have yet to try it because the kitty is always chewing on the belt or sticking her paw some place that it shouldn't be. jeesh.
yesterday we went to peets to play scrabble. we sat outside and only played a half of a game because it was so cold. before that we went to PCC and got some bach's flower essance to calm kitty's over-enthusiasm. i gave it to her last night and for about 20 minutes she was going hog wild all over the place and i was afraid it wasn't going to work. then she went to sleep and slept all night. YEA!!!
other news: our building has wasted almost twice as much water as this time last year, and they need to check for leaks. they will be popping in "sometime next week" and we need to do something with the cat again. i am shitting my pants about it.
i hope we get our car fixed this week because i'm sick of being lazy.

book fair
so the library is having it's once a year sell-a-butt-load-of-books thiny-doo today. it starts at 9 which is in three to five minutes. i am awake and almost ready. as soon as corey gets up we'll leave. the cat is going nuts about something. i wish it wasn't so expensive to get her fixed.
in other news, the jeans i'm wearing smell like they are rating a 2.8 on the smell-o-meter when they should actually be only a 2. the rating scale goes like this
1- just washed or only worn for 5 minutes
2- worn once or twice but still wearable
3- needs washing
i learned this system from mark. i'm pretty sure that that is not how he rates his own clothes because i forgot, so i made up my own. i guess i should change my pants because they smell and i hate smelly pants.

friday night nap time
around 6: 30 or so i decided that i should take a nap for a while and then i'd get up and we'd do something later. maybe walk down and get a movie, read a magazine. walk around. so i go lay down and i was almost asleep and here comes corey, all getting into bed and shit. he's all "i'm takin a nap too!" so we're laying there and then kitty comes inand sees us and to her that means that it's scratch at the closet door time and jump all over everything in the bedroom time. corey wouldn't have that and i decided that i wouldn't be able to take a nap any longer so i left and now corey's asleep like he's on drugs or something. i bet he won't wake up either. and here i am on a friday night not doing anything. i am wearing sweat pants.
whatever. i don't care if i'm not doing anything, i just want corey to be awake because then i have someone to talk to.
okay. so maybe i will go get the sewing machine out and make something.
jeeeeeeeeeesh.

4-14-05
our taxes are finished. i am relieved. earlier this morning i was going to double check everything and i couldn't find our tax
papers anywhere. i was buggin!!!
so i had no idea where to look, i checked the file boxes, the closet box of stuff, my car that i haven't driven in months, my desk at work! everywhere!
so then of course corey found them in the file boxes. they were in an unmarked folder. i feel like and idiot. but it's done and we're going to get money so who cares.
anyhoo, kitty is making a fort under the computer chair and a blanket. she is cute. i called the discount kitty chop shop this morning and it will take them 6 weeks to get her in! sheesh! i guess we will just have to pony up the cash.
this weekend i want to take an afternoon nap. maybe on saturday. or sunday. that is all i want. just one afternoon nap.

wednesday?
kitty is watching me type right now. she can't read so she doesn't know that tomorrow i'm going to call and get her an appointment at the chop shop.
she has been behaving badly lately. she gets into the closet and climbs up the garment bags that have our expensive clothes(wedding dress, wedding suit) in them. corey's suit jacket is now snagged and i feel bad about it.
anyway, the bottom line is that kitty needs to calm the fuck down. hear that kitty!?!
other news:
tomorrow i get paid. SHIT!
our taxes are nearly finished. i will send that shit off tomorrow. we are getting a refund. should we pay off bills? or buy new clothes? lets pay off bills and then charge up the credit cards with new clothes. that sounds good!
also, we will get my car fixed soon. i PROMISE!!

scrabble

something else that makes me laught so hard that i fart is seeing kitty with the scrabble bag on her head. notice her paw sticking out? she's acting like she's blind and she's feeling for corey's hand to lead her around! ha!
HA!

elaine marie
so i just got an email from erin. instead of addressing each other by first names, we are using middle names. i have two. erin has only one, stacey. so, if she had a second middle name that started with a P, her initails would be ESPN. you know, like that one sports network on tv? isn't that funny? sports? and erin? HA! anyway, so i said her new middle name should be "polly". but aparently her sisters already gave her "patty". anyway, thinking about calling erin "stacey patty" just made me laugh so hard that i farted. HA!
stacey patty!!!

sometimes all you want is a fish taco. (from taco del mar)
someone on flickr sent me an email. this is the first time ever that someone that i don't know has sent me an email about something.
here is what it says:
From: lysdexia
Subject: profile
omlets -> omelettes
divinci -> da Vinci
no God
so, i don't know. i guess they are trying to tell me that
1. 'omlets' is spelled wrong
2. 'divinci' is spelled wrong
3. no God (???)
all i have to say is take it up with eva. or greg. because they're the ones who wrote it.
that is all i have to say about that.
oh yeah, and today i was driving with eva and we were at the 5-way stop from hell in green lake and someone in a truck went when it was my turn. i honked and flipped them off and the girl in the passagner seat just smiled at me.

this evening
corey and i spent a long evening at peets playing scrabble. corey is a jerk when playing scrabble. at one point, i put down "naive" with a blank tile for the 'E' and got nine points from it. immediately after, he laid down NAIVE using MY 'v' and got 18 points for it thanks to the double word space he used. JERK! anyway, he did a lot of other things that prevented me from catching up to him and he ended up winning by, like, 50 points or some shit.
also when we were there i saw a baby wearing a helmet and it was the cutest thing i ever did see.

question!
i was wondering if there was a way that i could fake bad eyesight. i really need (want?) a pair of cute glasses. they could even be used as reading glasses only. i don't care. i have insurance now. so i can go to the doctor and someone else will pay. is this insurance fraud? do you know brett? i want some glasses!
when i use the computer at home i hunch over really bad so i can get close to the computer screen. that probably means i need glasses right?
i really hope so.

i am making a rubber band ball. it is about one and a half inches tall right now.
corey and i want to go on vacation somewhere. either washington coast or oregon coast. does anyone have any suggestions? i've been to the oregon coast once and it was fun. but it was with family and so, well, you know. family.
i am not hungry.

web site thing
so this morning corey woke me up and was wondering were his work pants were. there was a few options, one wrinkled, one dirty, and one wrinkled and dirty. i felt bad for not doing laundry last night and not keeping him clothed for work (shit, i'm married now. it's my job!) so he asked for a ride to work. i said "what's in it for me?" and he said "i'll redesign your website tonight."
i drove him to work because i felt bad and then came home and went back to sleep. then i went to work. then i came home and watched girlfriends for 15 minutes. then i fell asleep again. then i woke up because i had to pee and that is pretty much my whole day in a nut shell.
i'm going to go wash dishes and wear corey's shoes while doing it so my feets don't get dirty.
bye boys!

i don't have anything interesting to say.
i went shopping last night for food. kashi go lean was not on super sale anymore. it was on just plain "sale" 2 for $5. and they were our of go lean CRUNCH!
i have a paper cut on my finger and it hurts. i should find a band aid before work.

p.s.
eva pointed out that i forgot to mention that KITTY IS HOME! she didn't die in eva's care! when i picked her up she was sitting on the chair looking out the window. she was really happy to see me. it was hard to get her to go in her box. i had to smoosh her in there. she hardly "maowed" at all in the car. when we got home she was a little freaked out and had to sniff everything for about 40 minutes before she went back to normal. cute!
this morning she slept on my shoulder and she was squished into a perfect ball shape. how sweet!!
also, kashi go lean crunch is on sale at FM 5 for $10. and go lean bars are on sale 10 for $10!! shit! that is a good deal!
i am looking forward to the weekend. this week has been way to long.
i want to go the park sometime. either seward, or kubota garden. hmmm.
