weird, only not so much
hey, it turns out i've had a blogger account since september of 2003. yeah, greg tried to set me up with a blog way back when and i guess i couldn't figure out how to work it. and since then i have been leaving "anonymous" comments on peoples blogger things. i just found out by trying to make a new account but it wouldn't let me have the name "malisonian". well, yeah, because i already have that name. SU-WEET.

double groan
this afternoon we took a walk to the starbucks/redmill burger on phinny ridge. it was rainy pretty hard the whole time and when we got there we decided we should first eat at redmill and then sit and drink coffee at starbucks. so we went in to redmill and ordered some food and as i was about to pay with a card i said "you take cards right?" and the girl says "cash or check". who takes checks anymore? so we walked out and went to starbucks but they were too crowded. sigh. we walked in the rain to zeeks pizza and ate there instead.
yesterday we went to m-ville. we re-watched the excorism of emily rose with my parents. i fell asleep the first we watched it ( on thrusday) and again the second time.
i brought home a sewing machine that my mom got to give me as a birthday present. i didn't bring it home until now because i didn't have room for it. but now i do.
last night on our way home corey complained of being "hungry" so we stopped by the remodeld FM. it's pretty nice. for m-ville. i'm not embarrassed to say that i saw a table and set of chairs there that i want. anyway, we couldn't find food so we drove over to mcdonalds and ordered a "10 piece chicken select" which for some reason confused the girl at the window. when she handed the bag to us i opened it up to see a 10 piece chicken mcnugget! how dare they!!! so i went back in and told the girl and she handed me the box of chicken selects and said i could keep the mcnuggets. damn straight! when i got back in the car i noticed she gave me the 5 piece box. we ate the two differnt chicken chewys (which were both nasty) and then decided to never ever go back to mcdonalds ever again.
and that was my weekend in a nutshell.

friday afternooner
hrrm. why does it seem that i have nothing of interest to blog about?
today the tree next door was chopped down. we now have a view of downtown. you have to press your face to the window since our windows face east and downtown is south. but still!
yesterday before work a woman buzzed our aparment wondering about her friend and our neighbor. the neighbor had called in to work sick the day before and her friend was worried because she didn't call that morning. i buzzed her in because if it turned out the neighbor was dead in her apartment it's probably best to get her out of there. right? right. so i heard the friend knocking on the door and calling the neighbors name. nothing. so she knocked on my door. she wanted me to call the manager or something. then she decided to call her work. she waited on hold a while. she told me she appreciated me letting her in and offered to give me a ride if i needed one. she was about to hang up the phone when someone answered.
woman on other line: hello?
woman on my phone: who's this?
woman on other line: "it's barb.(the neighbor) where are you?"
woman on my phone: ohhh!! JESUS christ barb! i'm inside your apartment!
woman on other line: what? how'd you get into my apartment?
woman on my phone: i'll explain when i get there
so in conclusion, it's nice to know that people worry about their friends/co-workers enough to come and make sure they're not rotting in their apartment.
i got fancy hair products in the mail yesterday from drugstore.com. also in the package were soaps and a comb. yes! the hair stuff kind of smells like CKone.oh well.
i'm tired.
i have no idea what we're doing this weekend. i'd really like to declutter and figure out why the kitchen light won't turn on.

for your viewing enjoyment.
hey guess what?
IT WAS NICE TODAY.
i really could have used a good pair of sunglasses.
hey! guess what else?
i kinda cleaned my sewing room area.

what you can't see is the totally useless dining room table next to my tiny sewing "desk". i bought the table off craigslist last year and now i wish that i hadn't. it's too big and is only good for collecting large piles of stuff.
anyway, enjoy the rest of it while it's clean, becasue it won't last.
time to do other stuff.
toodles.

this isn't a craft blog... OR IS IT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!
if you go take a look over here you will notice that i have updated my shop with a few things.
exhibit a:

kitty toys. filled with catnip and fabric scraps. woo!
exhibit b:

big bag to fill with stuff. this is some new fabric that my mom found at the value village in m-ville. for some reason they usually have decent fabric. i really like this stuff and i want to do something special with it. maybe an apron or something. who knows.
i have been really busy sewing special things for special people and it's been pretty satisfying. usually i don't like recreating something but sometimes it's not so bad. especially when i get cool things in trade. more on that later though.
quick weekend update: most of the weekend was spent lazin' about. oh, on saturday i ate at the new jimmy johns in the u-district. it was kind of a blast from my past in iowa city. only not really. now the u-district as two eateries that iowa city had when i lived there: pita pit (aka pita flaps) and jimmy johns. i do not recommend pita flaps. but i do recommend jimmy johns. the veggi sammy specifically. de-lish.
both carl and brent called me on saturday night i did not return their calls because i hate using the phone.
bloop.

friday morning
ugh. the tiny-baby-kitty vomited this morning. it was just before six and i had just given her some rescue remedy because she was all meow-y about being in heat and stuff. she was quiet for a few minutes and then we heard a noise and corey got up and said "oh, she just barfed"
i went out and saw the tiniest kitty barf. i cleaned it and she kept coming around and trying to "cover" it up. she was very embarrassed. it was sad.
now i'm all worried about her. this is her first barf. she hasn't been eating her normal amount of food lately. which could be because i bought something new that she doesn't like. or it could be something worse.
my tummy is all barfy feeling now and maybe it's because thinking about a tinybabykitty having an upset stummy is the worst. THE WORST!!
sigh. in other news, yesterday i spent my afternoon and evening in west seattle. WOOO. hoo. corey had a work thing and i stayed around so i could pick him up and we could eat. its a long story about driving around in the wrong direction while also needing to pee. the story isn't worth telling so i'll let you use your imagination.
we ended up eatting at dukes on alki beach. i got the most expensive thing stuffed with the second most expensive thing. seriously. salmon stuffed with crab (and cheese). well, i think the steak is more expensive but whatever. it wasn't great. i ordered it because i was trying to "branch out" and not order what i would normally get (something meat-like with bread around it) and i think next time i will just stick with my women's intuition and get whatever comes in a bun. that kinda stuff is usually hard to screw up.
i'm glad its the weekend. i want catch up on sleep, sewing, friends, shopping, computing, kitty time, and corey time. and me time. not in that order. i hope i can fit all of that in two days.

boof doodles.
check it out, i finally got a hair cut on friday:

this picture was taken on saturday though, because the hair cut lady put too many products in it friday. then i washed it on saturday and my shit-ass shampoo wasn't strong enough to get it all out. it still smelled good though. anyway, i'm very happy with it. my last real hair cut was in feb2005. when i told the haircut lady she said "oh well, you probably don't need to get it cut that much. you don't do too many damaging things to it". not true! i need to get more haircuts. MORE!! that is a new years resolution. get more haircuts!
anywaysssssss, we went to the dentist saturday afternoon. you may or may not think this is weird. going to the dentist on a saturday. i told the haircut lady (small talkin.."do you have plans tomorrow?" i had to answer her). she thought it was weird. but it's not weird to me because the last 3 or 4 times i've been there it's on saturday. anyway, i really like my dentist because he laughs at everything i say. like dr. hibbert. and i'm not even trying to be all that funny. but he still laughs.
anyway, i feel as though i've said too much.
but wait! there's more!
saturday continued with some movie watching. broken flowers. it was rainy out and combining the two made me want to take a nap. but i didn't. sometime after that we walked in the rain to the pizza place and ate some pizza. then we went to pcc and didn't buy anything. THEN we went to peets and got coffee. THEN!!
we went to the movie store to return broken flowers and get another movie. brown bunny. here's my recommendation: don't watch this movie.
after the movie was finished i called bri-bo and brad-bo to see if they were doing anything. they were not. lame!! we decided to go on a snack run instead. we stopped at qfc and "big pimpin" was playing. man, i haven't heard that song in for-ever!!! i got some whole wheat goldfish crackers and two pineapple things and corey got a juice. then we went on a drive.
some where in greenwood i saw two older ladies pulled over and one of them was puking her guts out. we were stopped at a stop light and they were behind their suv all hunched over. i wondered what they were looking at. then i saw the ground, then the light turned green and as we sped off i could see the lady exploding all over.
ballard still hasn't put x-mas decorations away. we saw at least two houses with tons of lights still up. and many houses with trees in the window still.
oh, and for some reason people think they can hail a cab in seattle.
what the fuck? i kind of feel bad for these people because they stand out there with their arm all hanging out and nobody is ever going to stop for them.

eiii errrr.
i am so very tired.
every day this week i have been spending my chore time sewing. the dishes totally got out of hand. i vacummed yesterday though. thank god. and today after working and food shopping i did some dishes and then got packages ready and then went to the post office. now it's 6:15 and i have to make some dinster because i'm freaking hungry. and corey is hungry too. or at least he will be when he gets home. i know how he is.. anyhoo... i'd kinda rather be napping. except that i know that will be worse in the long run.
i'm pretty sure everwood is on tonight. i should look to see if it's new. there's a lot of "fresh episodes" of my favorite shows out now and somehow i missed them. (gilmore grrrrls) hmm. why won't the wb page let me find out about tonights episode. jerks.
okay. wahhh!

the usual.
this morning i dropped a container of chocolate yogurt on the ground. it exploded all over my clean jeans, new shoes, the wall and the carpet.
the container had the lid on but i had eaten some of it earlier. so it didn't have the plastic "safety" seal on it. not all of it exploded, but still. CLEAN JEANS.
here is a picture of what i've been doing lately:

i put up a couple of new improved pouch thingys on etsy.
yesterday and the day before i stayed up way to late sewing and stuff. it makes it really hard to get up early in the morning. (6-ish) but i've been doing it. and even though i've been getting up early i still don't have time to make a lunch (sandwhich???) today i ate left over squash and it wasn't satisfying.
speaking of lunch, i'm hungry.
i need to buy some dinner groceries .
today i did something that i've been putting off for more than 2 years. it's sort of pointless to tell you because i'm not going into details about it. but it was just one of those things that bothered me forever and i didn't want to do anything about it. so we'll see.
did i mention that i've been making these really awesome hambugers lately?
here's a recipe:
-go to pcc and get "Oregon Country Beef" it's on sale now and it's in the meat section.
- don't forget to pick up a sack of "Rudi's Organic Bakery Hamburger Buns" in wheat flavor or regular
-go home and mash the meat into hamburger shapes; cook
- when meat is cooked add cheese. slap a bun on it, and don't forget to add some good stuff like 'matos, avocados, ketchup mayo mustard (well, that is what i like, you can put whatever you want on it)
the key is to get the oregon country beef. it's the best! all other hamburger tastes like hooves if you ask me.
i guess i'm done with this now.
don't you hate it when you write out a whole blog post in your head and then when you sit down you have nothing?

tards around spu-town
i was just at the bank and witnessed a really retarded conversation between a dude wearing a chefs coat and two girls. they were talking about claim jumpers and how great it is.
stupid idiot dude: yeah, the claim jumper in alderwood. the eclairs are like this big! ( holds hands apart demonstrating size of claim jumper eclair)
dumb girl 1: what's an eclair?
stupid idiot dude: it's just a little thing you eat. you know.
dumb girl 2: yeah. it has ice cream in the middle.
so, i forgot to mention that the guys chefs coat was embroidered with "spu lunch room blah blah" so it's not like he was a real chef or anything. but still. he can't explain what an eclair is? "a thing you eat."
he went on to talk about how claim jumpers is really reasonably priced and if you eat there, you'll get full.
then i came out to my car and there were 20 or so students standing around reading a paper and then holding their fists into the air. and then they would read the paper again and repeat the fist pumping into the air.
it was weird.
the kids around spu are all kinda weird.
i hafta go call and make a dentist appt. for corey and myself.
wish me luck!

exciting-er-ist!
ohmigod. go to your itunes and type in "laffy taffy" and listen to the preview. LISTEN!!! we heard this song in the car the other day and i said "shake your laffy taffy? what does that mean?" and corey said "i think they probably mean lap taffy..." eww. whatever lap taffy is, gross.
here's what reviewers on itunes have to say:
"an outright embarrassment for hip hop."
"if you like this song, you have problems"
exciting news from this morning: my 19 year old car still gets 26-27 miles to the gallon. WOOT!
excitinger news from this afternoon: my new shoes came in the mail.
they fit great.
i just heard a new cat power song on the radio on the way home. "lived in bars" i think it was called and the new album is coming out soon. i just listened to a couple singles on itunes and now i'm REALLY excited.
sweet, turns out my new years resolution of "listening to more music" is turning out nicely.
we've been listening to a lot of beck lately. i highly recommend guerolito . it's way great. regular guero is good too, but i haven't listened to it that much because we just got it the other day.
oh, and corey got me this long winters ep for christmas, and it's fantastic.
toots. i've been listening to kexp at work and it's nice and all, but i still miss steve scher and the conversation. oh well.
wait! more exciting things...i went to the fabric store and goodwill this afternoon.
pictures to follow
from goodwill:

this is a huge piece of silkscreened stuff. it's kind of stiff. i haven't opened it up all the way yet because it feels weird to touch. it seems to have pleats in it too. i don't know.
i bought the kitty a slightly used cat bed from the goodwill. i don't know. i feel a little bad getting her something that some other kitty might have used. just because she's a kitty doesn't mean she won't notice if it's got different kitty stank all over it. anyway, i had seen one like it at mudd bay and wanted to get one because it's shaped like a miniture laundry basket and she likes sleeping in that. but the kitty thing was retardedly over priced, like $30 or something. the one i bought today was $4. i didn't take a picture of it because you would be bored looking at it.
now it's time for me to wash the dishes. so that i can make pizza for dinner. oh, GUESS WHAT?!?! i forgot to mention that on monday i went to crotch-co with my mom. i bought a 2.5lb bag of spinach. i hope we can eat all of it. the bag is so big. it's taking up all the room in our fridgie.
okay, enough!

new stuff.
here are some resolutions i'm thinking about making:
-take more pictures
-post more pictures on blog
-go outside more
-go on more walks
-wear cooler clothes
-stop shopping at the bon and gap (see above)
-be a nicer person to people i don't know
-eat more sushi
-go on at least TWO vacations (new york and somewhere else. chicago? something good)
-eat more meat
-finish what i start
-buy more cool fabric
-listen to more music
-make one new friend
-declutter
okay, those are just thoughts, i'm still allowed to make changes. right?
****
if you want to wander through our apartment, i've made a flickr photo set. you can look at it. or not.

i've just remembered that i need to make dinner tonight because eating food in the evening is something that we do every night. if i didn't make dinner it would throw our whole schedule off. so i need to go over to the store and buy some foods.
