sleeping and shopping related.
oh goodie, i'm so glad tomorrow is friday. i hope the sewing machine peeps call and have good news. i had a dream last night that they called and said it was ready and in perfect condition.
today after work i stopped at the vintage store to see if they still had some fabric that i spotted about a month ago. they still had it so i bought it (pink with large white polka dots...not too exciting but still) i also picked up some green and grey wool which will hopefully come in handy soon.
yesterday i drove to work so i stopped at G-willakers on the way home and picked up some grey cord and some weird pink square nubby cord. they were both 99cents for a yard or so. my sewing finger is itchy.
really, really itchy.
carolyn stopped by tonight so corey could help set up her new computer. i made falafel and we sat around for a while. it's nice when people stop by unexpectantly. woop!!
oh yeah, today after work i picked up some new deodorant. have i told you i've been walking home from work? it's a nice walk but about half way through i get pretty swampy. i'm almost ready to accept that i will have to change my clothes when i get home because i'm just too "pitted out". it sucks but what are you gonna do? buy expensive deodorant i guess. yay!
every day i walk home i pass by a funeral home and think of six feet under. i think i'm still grieving. heh.
wednesday i took a sleep pose test.

Find your own pose!
you should take it too.
add a marmadoo kitty on the pillow and this is exactly what i look like when i'm night napping.
speaking of sleeping, it's bed time for bonzos.

week ends.
first of all, thanks for the comments about my sewing machine predicament. i'm waiting to hear back from them on friday (!!!) which seems like forever, but at least i'll be getting paid so i'll know i can pay for it and pick it up. that is, if it's ready. i don't know.
this whole thing is totally stupid. i want to be sewing right now and i have another machine that i could be using, but i really don't trust it. its got fifty million knobs and dails and i can't find the manual. which i know i have. i can see it in my mind, just sitting somewhere, probably right in front of my face but i just don't see it. i hate to fool with it when i don't know what i'm doing.
non-sewing news:
saturday we went on a 7 mile walk (!!!!!)around town. this website allows you to track your route and calculate your calories burned. it's really neat and i have a huge crush on it right now.
also saturday: we stopped at the vid store to get the last two discs of SFU. yayay!! we watched some and then went on a snack run and ran into brad-tholamew. he and corey were dressed exactly the same. brad came over and then we went to a party with him. we came home and watched the second to last episode of SFU and went to bed late.
sunday: we got up and FINISHED SFU. get this: i cried when it was over. waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!
so this weekend was all sunny and crap and i took my camera with us on saturday but forgot the memory card. LAME! i took it today when we went to lunch and walked around but didn't take any pictures. boo.
related to nothing and everything:
-pcc has vegan brownies that are really good. i think it's because there are a butt load of choco-chips in every bite. if you live near pcc you should buy one and eat it.
-we ate morningstar farms corndogs for dinner.
-i bought the new blueprint magazine today and wasn't very impressed. ehhh. i don't know, it was kinda just all over the place instead of being devoted entirely to one thing like clothes(lucky) or home stuffs (domino, living etc.) which i like, so i guess i'll have to wait to see other issues.

no title.
ugh. i just dropped my sew machine off at the repair place. the sew machine lady pretty much ripped me a new one for
- not having it serviced
- not oiling it
- making excuses
- sew on and sew forth (HAA! that wasn't funny.)
all my excuses didn't fly with her and i kinda felt bad about
- not having it serviced
- never oiling it
- making excuses
at one point she even said "if you were at dinner with your family and sat down and told them all of this would they let it fly??" and i thought to myself yes, yes they would. because they love me. it wouldn't matter
anyway, at first she said it might be the motor. if it was the motor it'd be "toast". a new motor might cost $150-$250 and wouldn't be worth replacing. THEN!! about 3/4 into the conversation i mentioned that the foot pedal gets fucking hot. and she said "what?!?! wasn't that a clue that something was wrong? "
so i said "no, i just thought it was doing that because it's old." which wasn't a good excuse. she said i should have been unplugging it and putting it the freezer. [um DUH!! doesn't everyone know to do that??????] then she made me vacuum and wipe down the machine.
she went on to say that the sewing machine repair man knows more about you than anyone else.
the whole situation was embarrassing and made me feel like an ass. it's probably going to cost over 100 doll-hairs and she kept pointing out that i could get a fucking pfaff for $499 and "it will sew a floopity doopity stitch!!"
christ on a hot dog stick.

eatin' candy, nappin!
this blog seems to be lacking the standby "i just ate two butt loads of candy and then took nap. wooooo" posts.
that said, yesterday i ate a lot of candy and took a nap. however, i totally earned it this time because i walked home from work! yes!
gas is cost too much. i live too close to work to be driving. cars are dumb. legs are cool!!
the vegan cupcakes i made to celebrate easter tasted horrible. i think it was the frostings fault. i felt that it was important to keep it all "vegan" and made corey go out and buy some fake butter for the frosting. there was no way i was going to waste real butter on them. so i made the frosting and it was okay at first but then melted in the car on the way to scoots. i fridged it as soon as we got there and which sort of made it worse. scooter said the cupcakes tasted like popcorn. i didn't so much mind the popcorn flavor but i was still pretty embarrassed about the whole thing. only a couple of the cupcakes were eaten. booo!!!!
speaking of butter, i NEED this butter crock. i hafta have it!
today i rode the bus to work and i will walk home again. then i might eat candy and nap. WHO KNOWS?!

go to hell easter bunny.
buhhh! both of my sewing machines are boofed up. the pink one is acting like it's not getting any power. the hand crank thing is hard to move, i have to put the pedal to the metal and it makes a weird noise. no biggie right? i'll just turn around and use the brown one. well, it works fine i guess, for sewing straight lines and all. but the reverse button doesn't really go backwards, it just stitches in place or side to side or something. anyway, that's making it hard to sew star shapes becuase i usually just go forwards backwards forwards backwards twist twist forwards backwards...... you know. on the pink machine it's fine the the brown one makes it all bunched up. i hate bunchie.
so i guess i'll have to take the pink one to a repair shope or something. butttttttttts.
i'm making a yogurt cake to take to easter. before that i made vegan coconut cupcakes. i have no idea how they turned out or if the yogurt cake will turn out. i hope they don't taste like shit.
i'm still tired from when i woke up this morning.

just so you don't think i died.
for whatever reason i'm finding it hard to update this blog thingy doo. maybe it's a case of the terrible twos... who knows.
here's what i've been doing all week:
monday: work
tuesday: work, walked half way to downtown to meet corey and back to fremont. ate the worst dinner in the history of dinners eaten out at "baja fresh", picked up season 5 disc two of six feet under; watched it.
( i now feel bad for being so mean to george and hating him. but whatever. in the course of the entire show i have loved and hated almost everyone. EXCEPT ARTHUR. he should have and could have been the star of the show. he needs a spin off.)
wednesday: carol-loins dropped by. we met up with corn-dogs and went out to dinner thus neglecting ANTM once again.
thursday: work, rode bus doontoon and got some new hoodies/zippy-uppies.
friday: went to a word class and learned about word art. barf!
so the moral of the story is that i need alert everyone of my "busy" status on wednesdays because i can't keep missing ANTM. i did watch it on youtube, and even with the commercials all cut out it's just not the same.
i went to ho-annes tonight and bought some stuff. like a hole punch. one of the mini ones. i made some "hang tags" for my wares and now i can tie a little tag on each bag, purse, headband and thingy! tomorrow i'm going to make some business cards and i'm shitting my pants with excitment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we need to to our taxes. i'm thirsty. i want to do some sewing this weekend.
there was a tornado in iowa city and even though i just read some article about how some girls beanbag chair was displaced by a piece of wood i cannot try and make light of the situation (wait, didn't i just do that??). i remember once sitting around talking about tornados and and for some reason even though i had already lived there for months, it never occured to me that they had tornados there. then someone mentioned that there is some kind of tornado warning the first day of every month early in the morning, WHICH I HAD NEVER HEARD!! so anyway, my point is...something...suck town. mehhhh. i found this photo set with some good pics.
on that note...........................................

"i'm dancing cosby!!"
meeps. man, it seems i have written this post in my head a million times. but now that its time to do it have nothing.
did i tell you that a week or two ago i went over to M-time to get a lunch snack for work (my new favorite peanut butter covered pretzels) and i saw they were stocking the cookie bin with toffee bars again!!!! SHIT!! i wanted to get one but i already had a sack of the PB pretz so i didn't pick one up. i told the clerk lady i was glad to see them again and she said something like "if people buy them we will keep stocking them". okay. so the next day we went in there and i picked one up. first of all, they are SMALLER than i remember. and second! they raised the price to $1.99 instead of $1.65. pssh whatever.
so i went back a few times to get other stuff and checked to see if they were still in the bin and if peeps were buying them. the bin was empty!! shit!!
friday i went to get lunch again and stopped by the day old shelf and noticed a big pile of toffee bars. WTF!?!? they were marked down to 99cents so i bought one.
friday night i went back and bought the last two they had and put them in the freezer for later.
you never know when you're gonna need a toffee bar. right?
saturday we skipped our usual walk because it was raining and drove to this dumpling place way up on greenwood ave. corey is looking for soup dumplings and this place didn't have any but what we had of non soup dumplings was pretty tasty.
then some other stuff happened for the next hours that i can't remember and THEN at around 9 we said "lets go to a movie" and so we did. first we stopped at the hot dog place in the u-dist and it wasn't very good. then we saw V for Vendetta. i got the impression corey liked it but i said "meh" because nothing is ever good enough for me.
oh, i remembered what happened on saturday before the movie. we watched leonard part 6! i fell asleep in the middle so i was only able to get one gem of a picture which you can see above.
today i shredded some papers and washed some dishes. other chores i hope to accomplish today include:
-recycling out
-glass recycling out
-bags for thrift store out (to car)
-vacuuming
-laundering
-foofing
-doodling

good news, bad news, somewhat upsetting news..
guh. nothing angers me more than seeing weenies around town wearing scarves still. [not these kind of scarves, because those are totally spring appropriate, but actual muffler style scarves.] stop trying to hold on to winter. it's OVER.
yesterday i saw some girl at the fabric store wearing a scarf. then she went outside and sat in the hot sun with her stupid scarf preventing her from feeling any warm spring breeze what-so-ever. BITCH!
good news: yesterday we stopped at the vid store to get SFU and they now have the 5th season out!! we are in the middle of season 4 and i have to say that it's the worst. not to give anything away to anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to, but: i hate george. and i'm glad [someone] sends him shit in the mail. i hope he goes away. goes away....forever!!
but seriously, each dvd of the 5th season is only a one day rental. so we won't be able to "two-for-one" it because 1. they are new releases and you can only rent ONE on two-for-one days and 2. we probably can't watch 5-6 episodes in one night.
bad news: my eye ball is still hideous.
somewhat upsetting:
i missed all but 5 minutes of america's top model last night!!!!!!!!
OHMIGOD! yes, i know. i'm sure you just fell over in your chair after reading that.. i'm sorry and it will never happen again.
other news:
LHoTP has replaced the character of "nellie" with some little bitch who is supposed to be EXACTLY LIKE NELLIE but not. i think they adopted her or some shit and she has stupid blond curls like nellie, is a mega bitch like nellie, hates everone, is prissy, hilarious, stupid, buttfaced, blahblabhalhb all like NELLIE. i guess nellie "grew up" and "moved away" (or something. i must have missed that episode. )
okay, upon further research, in episode 146 The Reincarnation Of Nellie the oleson's adopt this 'nancy' girl because she looks like nellie. that's gay. but whatever.
anyhoo, the WB is now playing LHoTP at 8am AND!!!!!!!! 9AM.
hot. DOG!!
i will miss matlock, but two full hours of little house CAN NOT BE BEAT.

gross: the update
i don't have pink eye!
i went to the dr. today and it turns out that i had an inverted eye lash stuck in my tear duct. and it made my eye turn pink!!!
the dr. removed it with some tweezers and i felt dumb for having an eyelash in my eye. the dr. said it was the first time he had seen that before [eyelash in the tearduct, not eyelash in the eye] and i shouldn't feel dumb because i would have not known it was there.
guh. i'm hungry and forgot to bring lunch today. time to rummage in the food room.

um, gross
dudes, i think i have pink eye. i would show a picture, except it's not really something i think you wannna look at.
yesterday we went to an all day party at t-bones to celebrate a new apartment. i spent a lot of the time putting eye drops in my eye and also on the bed in the fetal posistion because of terrible abdominal pains. [which i think just turned out to be gas.] while the tummy was hurting the eye stopped itching and hurting. but when tummy felt better the eye started to hurt again. oh, and the eye drops i was using expired in dec.2004. just FYI. so that wasn't good either.(hey t-bone. throw those eye drops away!!! i have pink eye!!)
later we went to karaoke with erin and lui and brad and it was fun.
now it's time to go buy some pink eye droppers.
kbye.
