sun.

ohmigod. yesterday we went to ballard and they happened to be having some kind of "seafood fest" street fair. we walked around for a while and then decided to get a snack. a hotdog snack, which was the cheapest thing around. so we got hot dogs and then walked over to the locks. after we finished that i wanted to get ice cream at the little stand in front of the lockspot. so we both ate our little icecream cones and walked back to the street fair thing. corey says "uhhhgggggggggg. i feel like i need to eat a real meal to make up for all that gross grease we just ate." so we walked around and got pizza. it was totally barfy and gross. not the pizza just my grease filled tummy.

after that we went and saw wordplay at the harvard exit. i wanted to see scoop or strangers with candy instead but corey put the kibosh on it because they were playing down town and he didn't want to go there. what a weeener.

this morning i finished this ipod thingy:
ipod sleeping bag

corey's going to hurry the fuck up and get ready and then we're going to go study. i want to look for a messenger bag for my books. carrying a tote bag is making my shoulders all fucked up. like, one is longer and more slanted then the other. i'm sure it's always been like that. seems like something the chiropracter was always mentioning when i used to go in highschool. she'd always say " one of your legs is 2 inches longer than the other" and then pull on one for a half hour and then prop me up on some wedge pillow. good times. i should go back there and have her fix my crooked back.
anyway, that's not to say that switching from a tote back to a messanger bag is going to make me less quasi-moto but still. i just want to spend some money is all.

blaaaaaaaaah.

guh. i've been a dumpy mood for the past few days. my days go like this:
wake up and get ready
go to school;absorb knowledge
go to work; read blogs, look at flickr/etsy, maybe do work
go home and take a two hour napper
wake up and feel discontent.

basically, i go to school and learn, then i go to work and do things that make my brain melt. somethings gotta give soon. you know, kinda like that one movie. well, it might not be like the movie, i never saw it so i wouldn't know. whatevers.

yesterday after i woke up from my nap i ate some unsalted mixed nuts and got heartburn. today i woke up and ate crackers with pb&j and didn't get heartburn, then went and got an iced mocha and got heartburn. it feels like it's still lingering. someone explain to me why i'm getting heartburn. heartburn is for weeners. and i am no weeeener!

i just got back from getting emergency supplies at fucking joannes. like needles and zippers and stuff. lame! i hate buying zippers there. i have a bamillion sewing things to get finished. it's not that i don't want to sew them....it's just that i'd rather do stuff like clean the bathtub (which i did earlier) and put it off.

staring at the wall would feel really nice right now but totes and pouches don't sew themselves..............

not air conditioned.

heat waves are dumb. it's way too hot here. the reason i live in the area is because it's not supposed to actually get hot.
i want a refund.

to beat the heat, most of the weekend was spent inside the apartment
( which is really only about 3 degrees cooler than outside) and going to stores or houses that have air conditioning.

we went to the alderwood mall friday night. corey said "lets go to alderwood and eat and see a movie" i said okay because all my ideas were to stay around here and eat at the same places we always eat at that may or may not have air conditioning.

first we went to daiso, which is kinda like the zakka's that used to be marysville (for any marysville peeps who read this and used to shop there) only it's way better. mostly everything is $1.50 and there is a lot of cute things to be had. a lot of junk too, if you're not careful. here's what i got this time:
cool stuffs
click thru to flickr and read my notes if you want.

after that we ate mcgraths woodfire fish something-or-other and i got a fish sandwich and it wasn't very good. the whole experience was "meh". theme restaraunts gross me out. we decided to go home because we already wasted too much money on a crap dinner.

saturday i drove to marysville in my un-airconditioned car. first i stopped by erin's house.
this kitty lives in her yard and i want my parents to adopt it but my mom seems resistant.
yard kitty

erin's house is airconditioned which is way cool, but we didn't stay there. instead we drove to lui's house to see if she was there. her car was there but no one answered when we threw rocks at her window, called a million times, and rang the doorbell.
so we went and ate food instead. then we went to the thrift store. erin bought jeans and i bought nothing. saddening.
i dropped erin off and stayed awhile to enjoy the cool breeze inside her house. then i went to the parents and it was gross and hot.

even though it's freaking hot and sticky here i've managed to get some things sewn for my shop update thingy on tuesday. i'm about half-way done sewing stuff and then hopefully i can do the photography part tomorrow night and have everything ready on tuesday. woooooooop.

breaking news

okay, this news isn't really breaking because i found out right after the math test was over, but i got 95%. hoots!!
while we were waiting for teach to get the scores, the woman next to me and the boy across were discussing how "easy" it was. the woman said 'i better get a 100. i studied like a dog!!' and then we got our tests back and she said "oh LORD! oh lorddddd!!" she got 65%. i really like her so i kinda feel bad that she didn't do too well. it sucks when you think you know something and then it turns out that you don't.

i just sent an email to corey saying that i filled at the fafsa application thing and he wrote back "it's okay if the alfalfa application doesn't work. we'll figure something out"
then i laughed for 5 minutes straight.

the radio this morning said we should expect a heat wave this weekend. fuck that shit!

July 19, 2006

it's not even friday's friday yet.

we just bought plane tickets to go on a vacation!!!
wooop! the itinerary goes something like this:
fly to savanah georgia, stay for a few days, rent a car, drive up the coast.... to NY and then over to michigan to visit corey's fam, then fly home. he hasn't told his gramma yet that we're coming but i'm sure she'll shit her pants when she finds out. anyway, this is all pretty exciting because every time we try and plan a trip somewhere it gets canned before we even can buy tickets.
yesss!

tomorrow i have a math test. i'm hoping to get 88 or better on the rest of the tests. hopefully better because then i might get an A. we'll see.
it's kinda late and i need to go to the store and buy delicious breffix items.

sneak peak
here is a sneak peak of some things i'm working on for my etsy anniversary. mark your calenders!!! TUESDAY JULY 25TH!

July 17, 2006

blah.

i'm taking a break from homework right now. i should be at home but i'm working late. my eyes are sleepy.
most of the weekend was spent homeworking, sewing, and sleeping. and maybe a walk here or there. we haven't been walking as much or as far as we usually do because either it's too hot or my homework and books is too heavy to carry. i'm sure my bloated tummy is suffering. i should get a backpack or just borrow corey's. duh! then i should attach some kind of battery powered fan to the back pack so it blows on my face and armpits so that i don't get too sweaty. i hate being sweaty.

doot doot doo. arrrrg! i want to be at home finishing up some custom orders! this is annoying.

p.s. i forgot to mention that friday night i got another charley horse, this time in my other leg and about a hundred times worse. i forget why get these again...not enough water? not eating enough bananas? someone tell me. i try and stretch my calves all the time because i'm paranoid. corey claims he has never gotton a charley horse before so he gets bored when i try and talk to him about it. he can't relate. what a butt.

July 13, 2006

this is excessive but whatever.

last friday i stayed home and avoided possible social obligations so i could bid on this on ebay:

new sewing machine

if you couldn't tell from the picture, i won it and it arrived today. gangbusters!! it's very shiny and nice on outside and may or may not be a dud on the inside. not unlike my red mercedes that i had in highschool. ha.
i fiddled with it for only a moment because i was more excited to take pictures. i'm sure it will probably need adjustments though. oh well.

right now i need a nap. last night i only slept five hours and woke up every single one of those hours thinking it was time for me to get up and go to school. or because i got a charlie horse. or because marmadoo needed food.

something for you.

watch this and tell me if it makes you feel funny on the inside.

it makes me feel pretty weird and for some reason i have watched it 5 or more times. the part in the beginning where the girls comes out of nowhere to give him a bear and he lunges at her makes me laugh, while also scaring me at the same time. it kind of bothers me when he says "i just want to love her and then love her some more" while gyrating his hips.
ew.

FM is my all time favorite store, hands down.

i bought a shirt at fred meyer today. don't laugh, the shirt is pretty cute. sure, it makes me look like i'm a little preggers but whatever! it was cheap!! i bought some makeup while i was there becasue lately i feel like buying makeup. not sure why. last weekend i bought some and then today i decided i needed new mascara. anyway, i meant to buy some vinyl gloves for washing the dishes but i forgot.

tonight for dinner i tried to roast potatoes in the oven in a foil pocket. they didn't get fully cooked and i don't know why, they were in there forever. wait, maybe it was because i took them out to check them and forgot to put them back in. i guess they weren't really in there forever. anyway, they still tasted okay, so meh.

i got a letter from carolyn today. i read it while sitting on the toilet because i know she would appreciate that. now i have a letter to send to her and i better send it soon because everything takes a million years to get to alaska.

one more thing. the other day i put a link to an NPR concert mp3 thingy. you should go there again and download the martha wainwright concert. i can't stop listening to it. i just went and listened to her album clips on itunes and i don't like her non-live voice. it's kinda boring.
oh well.

i want to go get dessert.

oh, another thing: we got our math tests back today and i found out that the three problems i missed were NOT the ones i guessed on becasue i was unsure. of course i guessed right on those ones. the problems i got wrong were due to DUMB MISTAKES. sheesh.

ipod thingy, tote thingy, math thingy

here's a little ipod "jacket" i just made. it zips down the front so you can access the pod without having to take it out of the case.
_MG_3623
there is a small hole for the earphone jack to go though.
_MG_3621

it needs some fine tuning still so i don't think i'll sell this one. waaaaaaaah.

but here's a tote i put up in the shop this afternoon/evening:
mini-tote

today was the first math test and i just checked my grades online and got 88%. i guess it's not bad, but i thought i would do better. there's always next time!!

f-ing july.

last night we saw neko case at the moore. holy fucking shit, it totally rocked my socks off. i'm pretty sure it rocked corey's socks right off too, which is pretty awesome considering that he was only in attendence because he's married to me and that's his job. anyway, WHOA. it was so, sooooooooooooooooo cool. this morning i was tooling around the internet trying to find the set list and saw that NPR has an mp3 of a different concert that you can download. SU-WEET. it's pretty good, but not as good as last night. amazing.
sidebar: the moore is a weird theater. we were sitting in row V pretty much at the very top and back of the place. it was hot and squished. i loved every second of it.

afterwards we stopped at mccormick and schmick's for their happy hour. we both had $1.95 half pound tilamook cheese burgers and mine was very rare and tasty.

then we went home.

--
friday night we drove all the way to lake stevens so we could help celebrate kaeli's b-day (happy boof day kaeli!!!) she lives in an old house and it smelled like ghosts. i hope she has more parties this summer, the backyard is awesome.

yesterday afternoon i did some homework which is exactly what i should be doing now. so that's what i'll go do. home-worrrrrrrrrrrrk.
