uhg.
i'm trying to to put off things that i should be doing right now but it's hard when there's a sack of cookies and internet to distract myself with.
my feet smell weird because i re-wore a pair of socks that i wore last night only for a few hours. i took the socks off but the smell has attached itself to my feet.
this afternoon i picked up my car from the shop. then i drove home. when i parked in my spot i saw people in the vestibule/stairwell. so i turned the car off and watched out of the corner of my eye. it was a guy and a girl and i think the girl was pulling her pants up. i dilly dallied in the car and gave them time to get the hell out (i'm so nice!) and then went inside. i didn't see any drug remnants so maybe they were doin' it. {gross, dude}
a few weeks ago we left to go somewhere after dark and some gross lady was peeing behind our car. she didn't seem embarassed that we caught her pulling her sweatpants up. there was a huge pee puddle left over and now, weeks later, there is a pee stain left on the ground.
i'm going to go continue putting things off by napping .

sigh
so, today i rode two buses home from work and on each bus i rode i sat behind girls that had hair so red that it made my own red hair feel inadequate. for reals, their hair was like orange-y-red explosion. maybe it was colored, i don't know. but still.
the reason i was riding two buses home is that the buses are somewhat screwed up because of the fremont bridge thingy. which means the bus i used to ride to/from work is re-routed and doesn't really go anywhere near my work anymore. i found that out the hard way when i rode it last wednesday and got dropped off in magnolia (or something??) and didn't know how to get to the other side of the ballard bridge.
so now your probably saying to yourself "but wait, i thought you drove to work??" and it's true. i do drive to work! when my car works!!
i would tell you the whole long boring story but i don't feel like it. the bottom line we have to take it to go get fixed and it's totally bad timing. like, hello? we're going on vacation in a week and a half!! we thought about just leaving it in the drive way and dealing with it when we get back but i really would like freedom of having my own set of wheels back. jesus. i mean, if i want to ride the bus to work i have to walk practically half way there to get to the nearest bus stop. yesterday i decided to walk all the way to work. it was fine and all but it takes about 45 minutes compared to 5-7min. driving. guh.
i would really like to get a new car.
anyway. the other day corey and i switched "sides" of the bed. actually, he came in and was all "move over" because he wanted to be close to the alarm. so i slept on the other side and it sucked. last night i couldn't get any sleep. i'm already anticipating crappy sleep tonight.
oh yeah, today in between riding two buses home i stopped at the safeway to deposit a check. then i sat in one of those bloodpressure chairs and had my BP taken. 117 over 69. woop!

late night baking!!!!!!!!
you guys. i'm making cupcakes right now for scooters bbq tomorrow. the cupcakes are:
-chocolate and vanilla swirl
-plain chocolate
-plain vanilla
-mini raspberry jam filled chocolate
-mini raspberry jam filled vanilla
yay!!
corey says i shouldn't frost them. i want to frost them because i also bought sprinkles but he's probably right because all canned frosting is sort of gross. but sprinkles!!! maybe i'll set the frosting next to the cupcakes and people can frost and sprinkle their own. is that lame? meeh.
i'm tired.

happy thoughts!!!
i spent a while this afternoon reading about airplane crashes on wikipedia.
our upcoming vacation has me a little jazzed, if you know i mean.
one of my new fears is being sucked out of an airplane. this started the other day when some guy on tv was talking about this flight and how an explosion caused some of the passangers to be "lost to the night"
lost to the night? ugh. that's not the way i want to go.
as long as i remember to keep my seatbelt on and land is some snow i should be okay though.
anyhoo. i ate this really terrible candy bar thing earlier today. it was so gross. i don't recommend it.
here's a pouch that i finished after work.
it was laying around for a while waiting for a pink zipper. then it waited a bit longer for me to finish being busy.

same complaints i always have
i just went downstairs to get our clothes out of the dryer. our apartment building just got a new washer and dryer that are so fancy they have timers right on the display saying how long it's going to take for the machine to do the job. for example, permenant press wash takes 31 minutes. warm dryer takes 60 minutes. wow!! now i know for sure when to stop what i'm doing and go downstairs and take my stuff out so other people can use the machines. you would think that having this new feature would keep people from leaving their clothes in the machines for extended periods of time making a laundry log jam for others, but no, when i went down there to wash my stuff, someone's stuff was in there sitting.
so, you know, i took the stuff out and set it on top of the dryer, like i always do. they'll be in before my stuff is done and they'll probably have the dryer going and it won't be a big deal. 31 minutes later i go down there and the stuff is still sitting on the dryer. okay, if they haven't moved their stuff into the dryer by now and my stuff is ready to go in there, then it's fair game. i open the dryer and of course there is someone elses stuff in there. good god.it's not warm and i'm sure it's been in there all afternoon. i take it out and set it on the chair. this is totally normal that people do their laundry whenever they feel like and it really don't care if it's in someone else's way. like, both of these laundries that i touched didn't have cooresponding baskets to go in. i feel bad about just setting peoples stuff wherever, but HEY! I HAVE LAUNDRY TO DO!! i'm not going to leave their wet clothes in the washer and wait for them to come deal with it. once i did that and i didn't get to do my laundry till the next day.
anyhoo, so i moved some person's stuff to the chair and loaded my stuff into the the dryer and plugged my quarters in and pressed start and went back upstairs. for 60 minutes.
i go down there to get my stuff and
1. the dryer door is ajar
2. my clothes are wet. like they hadn't dried at all. not even warm. there is a little bit of stuff in the lint trap. maybe it had been on for a while. but still: wet clothes.
i imediatly think that i somehow forgot turn in on or maybe the door just popped open some time while it was drying. i look around for quarters that maybe i forgot to put in the machine and there is nothing, just some jerk's pile of clothes on top. i start to panic because i know i don't have 4 quarters to re-start the machine. i run upstairs and find a dollar to get change at the laundry mat next door (note to self: WHY THE HELL AM I NOT DOING LAUNDRY THERE??) and it's already closed. FUCK!! i run back upstairs and rummage for a few minutes and finally find money. i go downstairs just in time to run into 'long haired dude downstairs'
i can see that the dryer is turned on and my stuff is sitting my basket. wet.
dude: oh hey, was that your stuff in the dryer?
me: yeah, it was
dude: strangest thing, i came in here and the time had run out and i opened it and the clothes were wet. but still warm.
me: oh? yeah, i just came down here to get them and they were wet. i don't know why. i put them in an hour ago. it's weird. i don't know if i forgot to put money in or something, but i'm pretty sure it was on for a little while, there was a little bit of lint in the trap.
dude: yeah, when i touched them it was warm. weird. well, see ya later!
what the fucking shit. he's lying. i know it. he's passively trying to tell me to not put my clothes in before him. i think he went in there and opened the door and let the time run out.
this is total bullshit. this dude washes clothes for his wife and himself(whipped!!). i never see her doing it. i always run into him. and he always is someone who 'forgets' about his clothes and lets them sit in a basket wet for two days, until they airdry in a clump.
i don't know.
i would buy these excuses:
1. i put money in the machine and walked away without pressing start
2. the machines "malfunctioned"
but there are MAJOR flaws with both of these scenarios:
1. after inserting money into the machine it goes 'BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP' until you press start. i think i would notice that and not just walk away.
2. again, the machines are new. my clothes were wet like they hadn't tumbled at all. i doubt the machine is fucking shit up. if it did fuck shit up then hopefully it's going to fuck long-haired-dude's stuff up too.

guys, i'm bored.
which probably means i'm a boring person.
for lunch i had the weeniest soup cup. i had to get some lemon creme cookies from the snack area to fill the rest of the space in my tummy.
i was thinking of going to FM after work today. i got the FM rewards coupons in the mail the other day and there is a 20% off shoes coupon included. SWEET! the only decent shoes they have are converse so i was thinking of buying a pair. i don't really need any shoes and i don't need to spend money on shoes but 20 %OFF!!!
anyway, this morning i was looking for the FM rewards thingy and it wasn't in the pile of clothes that i remember leaving it in the other day. i guess i can still go to FM and buy other stuff, like cat food, so don't you worry. i will still find a way to spend money.
so yeah, do you ever browse flickr and etsy and other blogs and just feel so overwhelmed with coolness and creativity that you have to just get up and go take a nap? instead of being inspired? it happens to me sometimes. sensory overload. sheesh.
a great weekend would include a long walk, selling some clothes at buff-ex and using whatever $$ i make to buy magazines. then getting bahn mi to go and eating and reading in the grass.
then:
napping
movie watching
sewing
chill-axing

math class: over
so, today was the last day of math class. we took the final test and then got our grades if we waited around........
i got 104% on the test. 97% overall which in turn is a 4.0.
suweet!!!
then i left but couldn't go straight to work because it was too early. instead i drove over to FM and browsed the shoe section and bought some peanut butter.
even though i really enjoyed my class, i'm really excited to sleep in just a little and how mornings when i can bum around for a little while before work. my etsy shop has taken a backseat since i started the class and now i can get back to doing more sewing.
today i'm wearing this new shirt that i bought at buff-ex over the weekend. it sort of resembles a maternity shirt. i tied a ribbon around my waist just so people wouldn't get the wrong idea but it's still a little billow-y. meh.
okay.
toodles........

rant.
dear joann fabrics,
go suck the proverbial weener.
here's a story.
corey's friend matt wants me to make a really super special bag for his wife's b-day which is coming up soon. he told me about a month ago and i've been sitting on it because i forgot and am really busy with lots of stuff right now. last week i finished being busy with stuff and went to joann's to pick up some brown duck cloth. i've been buying different colors of their duck cloth for a long time now. like maybe six months or something. the ballard store as the worst selection, they are always out of whatever i need. one time i had to drive all the way over to the issaquah location to pick up some in green. anyhoo, so i go there looking for brown duck cloth, knowing they won't have any in stock but ready to ask if i can just special order a bolt. i ask a girl and she gets some lady to help me. she can't find the SKU number anywhere. she asks repeatedly if i have bought it before and what color exactly. i tell her i bought it at the issaquah store AND the ballard store and she calls them to ask if they have it in stock.
i notice that when she calls the store she doesn't identify herself as working at a different joann's location. ??? seems like she might get faster service that way.
she gets off the phone and tells me that the stores (more than one apparently) she called do not have the fabric. she then writes my number down for the "fabric lady" to call me back.
the next day some fabric lady leaves a message on the phone saying they "don't have the brown but they have a different brown that is sort of a dark tan...maybe a cinnamon color, but not as red."
yeah, the color is called nutmeg and it's not at all the color i want.
meanwhile i called my mom to ask her if she could stop at the m-ville/ everett store to see if they have any. she calls me to tell me they have about 3 yards at everett and i tell her to get all of it and the bolt so that i can have the SKU # for future reference. she tells the cashier person that i'm having trouble finding the fabric and he looks up the sku and says it's not registering as even being in their system. while all this is going on my mom overhears this conversation:
clerk 1: who's on the phone?
clerk 2: someone looking for material.
clerk1: material?! tell them we don't have any material in this store. none at all.
i guess that's a little fabric store humor for yah. HAHAHAHAHA. not funny.
i have talked to joann's employees on the phone before and they are rude and unhelpful. also, a little bit condescending.
but whatever, i got the fabric and i can start working on the bag. except for that it's supossed to be a messanger style bag and i need some hardware and some more brown webbing.....................
the story continues.
i drive over to fucking joanns after work and browse their button and snap and doo-dad isle looking for one of those strap adjuster thingies. like this one, but not plastic. they have some buckles but they are too small. i can't find anything that will meet my needs so i go look for brown cotton webbing WHICH I HAVE BOUGHT BEFORE.
they have nothing. i go to the cutting counter and ask this one lady who is always working and always has a sour face and who is always just not very nice. i ask for 1. brown cotton webbing. 2. metal strap adjuster . she squishes her face up and asks about the metal strap adjuster thing. "like a buckle?" she says. "yeah, i guess it's like a buckle only it's not really. it's longer. and i think the bar in the middle moves. but i'm not sure". i say. she doesn't understand what i mean then asks if i looked where the buckles are. which i did.
so then i ask about the brown webbing and tell her that i have bought it there before MANY times. (she has even cut it for me, MANY TIMES) she takes a thing somewhere to look and comes back to tell me they "don't carry it"
OMG WTF?!!!!!!!?!??!!??!
why is joann's all of a sudden "not carrying" the things that i need. really, really basic and non-seasonal things that they have always had in the past?
and furthermore, WHY IS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SHIT?!?
almost every single cleark there is unwilling to help look for something. they first ask if you looked for it in the such and such isle. if you did look there and it's not there then they don't have it. done and done. they hardly ever offer to help you look for something that maybe you just didn't notice or maybe there is something else you could use in place of the thing you're looking for.
god dammit.
so then i went to the goodwill and found a hideous luggage bag with a fucking metal strap adjuster thingy-majig for a $1.50 and then i went to seattle fabrics and bought some brown fucking webbing and from now on i will go to seattle fabrics because they have lots of webbing and they even have the strap adjuster things. a whole wall of them i think!!
lick some balls, joanns!!!

in the past five hours i have eaten five delicious granola bars.
i went shopping today for camping things (sleeping bags) and bought a pair of shorts. the last time i bought shorts was 2002 and carolyn and i were going to iowa city to visit before i decided if i wanted to live there. i was told it was "hot" there so i went out and bought two pairs of shorts.
anyway, shorts are pretty much the same as i remember.
i'm freaking tired. i can't go to bed cuz i gotta warsh clothes and stuff.
target has a shitty selection of sleeping sacks. i got two of the only non-child size they had, which are both 'big and tall'. i wasn't aware that they were sizing sleeping bags nowadays.
oh, this afternoon while i was leaving the parking lot of macy's in northgate my mom called me. i was driving the wrong way down the diagonal parking isle or whatever and some bitch ass ho in a passing car yelled at me "hang up the phone and drive!"
what a bitch
ass
ho.

thank jesus it's august.
today we took our second to last test in math class. before class was over (but after most people finished taking the test) some fire alarm thing went off so we had to "evacuate" and stand around for about 20 min. we went back upstairs afterwards but there wasn't enough time to go over the test. i know i got 96% though. YES! that is good, but i got 100% on the last test so now i'm dying to know what the one problem i missed was.
for the past two weeks or so i've gotten really gross blemishes on my face and i'm pretty sure it's stressed related. gross. i haven't gotten bad zits since i started using this face stuff a year ago. and now i'm all "stressed" and stuff and i don't even know how to stop feeling "stressed" when it's not something i even notice happening. i think last week was the worst because i was really busy doing stuff (that i don't even remember doing now) and it's over so the zits better go the fuck away.
this weekend we're going camping with friends in wenatchee. i'm pretty excited. i have never been camping with corey before and haven't been camping with friends since sometime in highschoool. i'll be taking a straw hat and better not get a sunburn.
i'm tired.
i took a mean 2-hour nap earlier but there's no reason i shouldn't go to bed early tonight, right?
