important: TUB TRUG ALERT.

i got a little ity bity tub trug! i found it at fred meyer. it turns out they DO sell them. in the garden section if you're wondering, not in the home/laundry basket area where i had looked before.
the one i got was the last one in the small size and it is baby blue colored. it's so tiny and cute that i die when ever i look at it.

we went to m-ville for easter today and after brunch went to value-pillage to check out baby clothes. i found a lot of good stuff on the cheap.

tomorrow i think i'm going to use the baby tub trug as a laundry basket for warshing baby clothings.

cinnamon graham

i'm eating cinnamon graham crackers right now because it was the only "treat" that corey would let me get last night when we were grocery shopping. i really wanted snack pack pudding but he said "NO". i almost sneaked it into the cart but figured that he would notice since we weren't getting that much stuff.
the grahams are ok, but i remember them being a lot more crusted with cinnamon and sugar. these are just lightly dusted.

today i was really exhausted because the cat keeps waking me up early in the morning by pawing this piece of plastic. she wants me to wake up and feed her and since i always, always do what she says i got up and went to her food table. sometimes she already has food in her dish and just needs reassurance for some reason. she is weird.
i guess this is practice for a bebe or something.

i wish my school offered a linguistics class because i'd take it. i thought i saw a class once before but i don't see it listed now. maybe it's only offered sometimes.

okay. seinfeld is on and it seems to be an episode that i haven't seen for a really long time.

tubtrugs!

i was reading this post on ohdeedoh about baby bath tubs and noticed a comment about using a tubtrug as a baby bath tub. we have a medium sized red tubtrug which i use for laundry and for a cat bed. (i was going to link to a picture on flickr of the kitty sleeping in it, but i couldn't find one picture even though i KNOW i have some...)

i really like the idea of using a tubtrug instead of getting a baby bathtub which will take up space (and look ugly) and will be eventually useless.
i really like the primrose color in the small size.

i bought mine at the storables in the uvillage. once i swear i saw one at fred meyer but when i asked someone they had no idea what it was so i think someone just returned it even though they don't carry it.
i don't remember if storables had other sizes besides medium so i will have to go there and check it out.

notes

I have added some things to my etsy shop. it's mostly fabrics and other stuff from my sewing area that i need to get rid of. i'm trying to de-clutter and nest...so maybe i will be able to find more stuff to list later.

i also added the etsy-mini to the side bar so the blog now looks a little less boring.

yesterday we walked down to fremont and got movies. the flowers were really pretty.

neti pot

little neti pot

i'm super duper sick right now. well, maybe not that sick. i have a lot of crap coming out of my nose area and that crap is clear colored so i guess it could be worse.......
yesterday while we were getting some dinner fixin's at whole foods i got a neti pot. i've been wanting one of these since i saw my ceramics teacher from a few years ago demonstrate it in class.

the first time i used it my nose area/whole sinus area (???) was so stuffed that the saline solution wouldn't travel from one nostril to the next. i blew my nose a hundred times and it was still too clogged. today at school i blew my nose over and over again and stuff just kept filling in the empty spaces. after i got home i tried it again and it finally almost started to work correctly. i'm sure my nose area will be stuffed and drippy for a while longer.

now i'm going to nap for a long time. tonight we have the first of several (seven) birthing classes to go to. we are supposed to bring "two soft pillows" and i'm not sure if we should take our bed pillows (soft) or some other pillows that we have (probably not as soft).

okay bye.

stuff

last night we went to see the business of being born. i HIGHLY recommend seeing it if you are pregs, or even thinking about having a baby.
when i first found out i was pregnant i did some reading around and realized that i did not want to go to the regular baby doctor that i had gone to for woman-related things, but instead wanted to go to a midwife.
my experience at the regular doctor was pretty much non-existent...every time i went there and had an appt. with the doctor i would be rescheduled to see the nurse practitioner. not really a big deal or anything, but why not just tell me the 3 months prior when making the appt. that the ob/gyn would be to busy to see me? anyway, after a lot of reading i found out that this could be the same experience i could have if i chose to have a baby there. the doctor might be there.... or they might not, it could be someone you've never met.
another thing that freaked me out about having a baby was that every birth i had ever seen (on tv/movies because that's where everyone finds out about those kinds of things) the woman has been flat on her back, screaming, and seems to be not in control of her own body. some one else is telling her what to do and when to do it. also: lots of strange things strapped on the mother, iv's, needles....that creeps me out.
when i first told peeps i was pregs and told them i wasn't going to a doctor but instead a midwife, i got a lot of raised eyebrows and "why don't you go to a real doctor, in a real hospital?!" types of comments. most of these comments came from people at work and corey says people who work there are ignorant to begin with (true), it still seemed to me that everyone has one idea of how a birth happens. in a hospital. in a bed, flat on your back. being told when to "push". oh, and with lots and lots of drugs. another comment that i got was "are you going to have one of those weird unmedicated births?" what the hell does that even mean? weird. comments like these (pretty much all comments really) came from girls who have never had a baby and really have no idea. sure, i haven't had a baby (yet) either, so do i know more then they do? maybe, maybe not. but they seem to have their minds made up that they can't handle the pain of childbirth, or that childbirth is a terrifying or scary experience.

bah, i could go on and on forever about this subject. but i won't. go see the movie for yourself. you can even get it on netflix right now.

today i woke up with a sore froat. i called in sick to work and hopefully corey will go to the store and get me some cough drops.

school will be over REALLY soon and i can't wait to be done with my english class. jesus f-ing christ. that is the MOST annoying class ever, with the MOST annoying people. EVER. period.
