Last days - pictures

We are having a crap spring. One out of 15 days is "nice out". I don't think the temp has been over 67 degrees at all.

BUT! Last Sunday was nice. I busted out my Salt Water sandals. We went to the playground too.

Another day we went to the zoo. There's a Dino in the pond.

Today I made myself coffee since Corey went to work before we woke up. ( yay for sleeping in a little!!)

And booboo painted some pictures.

For dinner tonight I made a KICK ASS bean/ham/quinoa soup thing . It was so good and made so much that I can freeze two extra dinners put of it. I made cornbread too but it was only just 'ok' and not my favorite.

Sort of news

Yesterday we ( me and booboo) went on our first solo Costco visit . Usually we go with my mom and so it's not so hard to keep him entertained . Thank god they had some samples!!!! Even though he didn't like the samples they had .... Picky eater, ya know?
Anyway. They had a demo for a blendtec blender and it was seriously the COOOOOLEST thing I have ever seen!! I really wanted one even though my blender works great . Booboo wasn't that impressed and so we left when it was time to taste the spinach ice cream they made.

And, speaking of spinach and picky eaters, I've been making smoothies with stuff like frozen kale and spinach, carrot juice, coconut flour, beets and other stuff for boo boo. The beet addition is a little weird and I stopped putting those in for a while because it made me gag once and then I couldn't finish it. The other stuff is good and boo boo drinks them . Yay. We also like oatmeal, flax seed, nuts, berries, frozen grapes, orange juice and plain goiter. And by goiter I mean YOGURT, just seeing if you were paying attention. ( thanks autocorrect)

I'm wondering if spring weather is coming soon. Everyone is talking about their warm weather and psssshaw. It's still in the mid 40's here so TAKE THAT! or something.

Tired and rainy wednesday

It's that part of spring that's always rainy out and still kinda cold. We haven't been doing much lately because both me and booper have the snorgles. Today I can't wait for nap time , I'm really tired !!!!!!!!!!

I got the paints out for a little while so it wouldn't seem like we were watching the Netflix allllll morning.

Booper likes squishing the pants together and saying that it looks like poop.

Baking

We've been baking a lot lately.

Boo boo loves to "help" in the kitchen and making something with flour that he can SCOOP himself and dump on the floor is his favorite.

Yesterday we made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and he was so mad when they came out of the oven. He thought we were making the "shapes cookies" we made last week!

So today after nap time we made cheese shape crackers. These are so good. I sent a pic to Corey because I know he'd eat these up like nobodies business if he was here.

Now I just need to figure out how to get some veggies in here that boo boo will eat. Sigh.

Playground day.

It was nice today (( I mean afternoon, in the morning it rained sheets of rain down the street )) so we walked to the PG with Corey since he has the day off.

I'm so exhausted. Tomorrow Corey leaves to go to SXSW for 5 days so it's just me and boo boo (( and bebo )) for a while!

I figured how to post pictures on this beast from my phone so - YAY.

We went to the goodwill today because booboo has been asking to go either there or "waloo wilwidge" ( that's value village if you don't speak toddler). We got a little keyboard and a fake Swiss army knife thing. I got a sweater and some bust magazines!

wallingford wednesday.

it was super nice out today.
instead of our usual stroller/walk to wallingford we walked to the bus stop and rode the bus.
on the way to the playground we got distracted by the vintage tools in the window.

we never made it to the playground though......... boo boo remembered that there is a "tay store" inside of wallingford center and a "clothes store" too.

we played with "tays" for a while.
and ended up buying a helicopter toy even though i didn't want to buy anything. ( i always feel bad for hanging around while boo boo plays and then just leaving.)((but they were having a sale!!!))

we got a cupcake

ugh. the cupcakes at trophy cupcakes were BEAUTIFUL to look at but i'm definitely losing my taste for sweet things. it seems like everything is really over sweetened these days. i used to have a SERIOUS sweet tooth but i've been trying to cut out most sugar when i bake and so now i love the taste of very subtly sweet things (re:bland!!)

they have these toys at the toystore called "calico critters" . the little bunnies look soooo familiar. i think i might have had one when i was little. i wish we had a doll house here to play with. boo boo liked playing with the one there.

why does every post need a title anyway.

corey downloaded volume 1 when it came out and we listened to it A LOT right around the time boo boo was born. so it kinda makes me think of that. but not really.

seeing zooey deschanel in that video reminds me of when we watched the first few seasons of weeds , also when boo boo was just born, and yeah. she's kinda a kooky lady. WHICH ALSO REMINDS ME, we like to watch bones(with emily deschanel) a lot. well, corey likes to watch it. i just happen to be in the room when it's on. but whatever, boo boo really likes to dance to the beginning theme song to that show.

date night.

we went on a date last friday!!!!!!!!
we went to see true grit. i met up with corey downtown. boo boo stayed home with my friend renee and her wife erin. they have a little baby and we are doing a child-care co-op. i watch their baby on friday during the day and then they watch boo boo at night. SWEEEEETTT! date night!!!!!

we walked around for a while before the movie started. corey took me to this store called all saints which i have never, ever heard of before. they have ALLLLL THESE OLD SEWING MACHINES IN THE WINDOWS AND ALONG THE WALLS OF THE STORE. it is like sewing machine heaven or something. amazing.

then we went to american apparel.

this is the fabric of a shirt. it's neat but i would never wear it as a shirt.

i feel so old and out of the loop lately! i also saw some pleated pants at AA and they were just terrible. i mean, yeah, someone out there is hip enough and pleated pants will look awesome on them but it's NOT ME.

happy new year

we just got back from the thrift store and booper got some new tools. i got some new shirts(!) and a pair of pants (!) so that is EXCITING.

i thought boo boo would be distracted enough so that i could blog really quickly but i'm not sure if that's gonna happen!!

SO: new years ! new years was a big big night for us. boo boo spent the night at his grandparents for the first time while corey and i went to a wedding. this was a super big deal for us because boo boo still nurses to sleep EVERY night (and most naps too) and so i am the only one who puts him to bed. but, i knew i REAAAAAALLLLY wanted to go to the wedding because 1.) friends from highschool 2.) new years eve 3.) it was time to have a night alone for once.

i knew that esmond and probably my mom wouldn't get too much sleep and it would be really hard, but i think that he did OK overall. and WE had a lot of fun at the wedding seeing friends and drinking and everything. it was so nice not having to think about leaving early to get back home. SOOOO NICE.
and the next day was amazing too. nice weather, slept in a little, had a nice leisurely morning, went to the coffee shop, WENT THRIFTING. goooooood times.

anyway, it was all really nice and i think that it was a great way to end the year/ start the new year.

ok. now boo boo is awake and i really wanted him to sleep longer but i guess now we can go out to the playground or something so we can get the wiggles out. sheesh.

hives! or: how i've spent my last few days.

hrrrumph.
so on tuesday i woke up with a few itchy hives around my stomach. i dabbed a little baking soda paste on them and got dressed so we could run all of our last minutes x-mas errands. the hives pretty much stayed away until the middle of the night when i woke up with my eyes swollen and my hands swollen and more hives around my back.

i got some meds from the doc the next day and this morning i took my last prednisone. i have no idea what i'll wake up to tomorrow but i suspect more itchies and more spots. and probably swollen fingers.

SO, that has been my past few days. i am so fortunate that my mom has been able to come help me out with cleaning and laundry and helping with boo boo. it's so weird because it always seems like there is such a buildup of excitement before x-mas and then, POOOOF IT'S CHRISTMAS and then ohmigod, it's all over. i hate feeling like crap now because i want to play with boo boo and relax and go to the playground but i also feel like i need to figure out what the hell is up with my body. it's really hard with a little toddler to take care of.

we spent today at my gramma's house and it was nice and low-key. boo boo got to play at the playground and was so exhausted that he went to bed at 7:30. so that is good.

okie dokie. i guess that is all the SUPER EXCITING news i have for now and hopefully i won't wake up tomorrow looking like a troll.

it's monday. funday. bunday.

it's corey's birthday today. this morning i made DELICIOUS biscuits and snausage gravy. after that me and boopster drove to u-district to look for a gift for corey while he took a birthday nap at home. on the way there i heard this song on the radio:

i really like the song. so i downloaded it and have already listened to it several times.

so we walked around looking for a pressie for corey. i wanted to get him a vintage filson jacket of some sort but had shitty luck looking at the used stores in the u-district. either no stores had them or the store clerks were like "filson.....? i'm not familiar with that ....brand...". which i think is shit, especially if you work at the red light. AND ALSO IF YOU LIVE IN SEATTLE. come on. but whatever. so anyway. i got him something else.

i think we need to go back to the ubookstore tomorrow to play with the lego table and get some glitter.
